Hey, so at the end of the first episode, when clive tarker is chewing out LaVonte, he says the only number that matters is one: The one truth of this world which is that we feed.

At the end of the season, when LaVonte is talking things out with HJ, he asks him to pick a number between one and one: who is the one person you want to spend eternity with.

Same number, different reason why it matters.
