CONNOR, a canon character from SCP: CONFINEMENT, appeared in town TWO DAYS ago. here, they’re a 21 y/o working as a WALMART CLERK. people think they’re AMIABLE & RELAXED or SARCASTIC & APATHETIC but associate them w/ THE FOUNDATION SYMBOL, BRIGHT ORANGE JUMPSUITS, AND HEAVY EYE-BAGS either way. they do remember SCP-2200 exploding into BLACK INK OF SOME SORT.
hi my names alia and i will never keep enough muse to keep afloat. anyways heres connor
connors a guy with a lot of issues. with minor depression, low self esteem, self denial for personal freedom, or denying himself much freedom in the first place and always has the urge to obey anyone with a lab-coat with a demanding voice despite being away from foundation grounds. hes a cynical person whose more than just apathetic to most of these problems and finds the secret script, fire tongue, all those languages, to be more familiar than german.
he also has a bad case of regenerative immortality, that denies him death. instead, whenever he dies, he just pops up again right besides his corpse, good as new, clothes and all, as if he didnt die at all (if it wasnt for his dead body on the ground). he essentially has a whole inferiority complex, being a D-class for the foundation. d for disposable.
he’s usually assigned to unnatural anomalies, which are usually a ranged vary of those things, from teleportation chairs to a neolithic war god to a never ending IKEA to a Shakespearean cannibal. due to his immortality, hes usually assigned to the more deadly ones, which he’s tasked with questioning. it almost always includes him dying at least 5 different ways.
now that hes.. not there. hes confused, and also kinda scared. but also a bit excited, kinda like.. a guy whose never tasted freedom is suddenly thrust out on their own, but acknowledges that they have no knowledge on how to survive on their lonesome, so its kinda terrifying!
at the moment, he’s a humble walmart clerk with an attitude to count, mainly due ot hte fact that they have little knowledge on how to preserve themself without needing to die all the time, which he tries his hardest to avoid. since, 'new town new me', connor - whose spent his life just wanting to be a normal, mundane dude, is given that oppurtunity, and the only thing he has to do is keep himself from dying.
Nyx: Connor never been in a say in where he stayed. It was either in the trunk of a moving truck, in a bleak cell, or he gets shot and then thrown back into his cell if he tried anything else. Of course, this doesn’t mean this was his ideal living condition, rather - he’d been so oblivious to the fact that things could in fact be better for him, and especially here, that he’s never thought too much about what not living in such a bland cell would be like. If it’s one thing, he supposed that having a more comfortable bed would be for start. Beyond that it’s unspecific daydreams of a ‘really nice hotel’ or ‘your own room.’
Connor has never particularly enjoyed the dark, not in the facility. It often stood for ‘something bad was about to happen’, whether it be part of an SCP Object’s effect, or the beginning of a containment reach. Neither ended great for him, and leaves him expecting to be ripped up and torn to shred by the time the lights flicker back on. Though he doesn’t fear it - not the dark itself. He acknowledges it as something capable of obscuring what’s truly behind it, and also a hassle to see through. But, he’s not going to go and buy a nightlight, knowing that there wasn’t anything close to killing him. Not yet, anyways.
Thalassa: It’s difficult to anger him proper. Sure, he could give someone a snarky comment and end it there, but to genuinely get him pissed off isn’t too much of an easy feat, as just killing him is really just the equivalent of just spilling Coffee on him. Even if you do, an apology soon after would soothe his nerves. Though, in the case that someone does manage to anger him, he becomes fairly provocative, insulting them with even harsher terms - despite what he’s been told, he’s not the type of person that would try to be the ‘bigger man’. Eye for an eye, fucker, he’s not even so attuned to violence, but he’ll try to find a way to get back at someone if he could. OF course, this could easily be smothered out by a carpet of lethargic tendencies, or take it out on himself if it’s more personal conflict he’s having.
Evie wasn’t going to give up, not in the slightest bit. She has spent the past month determined to find Rick, Alex, Jonathon, Ardeth, and Izzy and that determination has only grown more each day. She has searched all over the city, poured over as many books as possible to learn more about this place and the possible locations in which she may potentially find one of them. She has been using as much of her resources as possible- she is, after all, an archaeologist and is meant to use any and all resources for anything. Which… has meant dwelling into her more modern resources: a laptop, for instance. As the English woman sat at a cafe and tried her best to get this bloody thing to work, she groaned in exasperation. “For Heaven’s sake,” she grumbled before looking up, waving slightly to catch someone’s attention. “Hullo,” she mused, trying to switch her annoyed look to something more pleasant. “You wouldn’t happen to know how to use one of these things, would you? I’m quite lost, really.”
Yet another hour passed by at the internet cafe. His hands tip tapping away at the laptop’s surface as he stared straight ahead at the screen before him, glimmering a pale light. At least this was something he’d adjusted to. It was hard work, to say the least. Searching through each craigslist post, each resource post to find just something he could use to help his ass from the cement floor. He’s fortunately been ale to find a few spare quarters on the ground, able to get himself a wash so here he was - not smelling like a dead cat. All the more fortunate, right? Though, he took note of the woman’s wave, leaning backwards in his chair as he swiveled his head towards the woman besides him, his brows all just slightly furrowed between her and the screen besides him.
And just right after, it clicked. He moved up from his chair as he approached the other, raising a hand to say ‘You have my attention, ‘ “ .. This thing? I mean, don’t think it’d be that hard to use, but I guess we all got our preferences. Aight, Grandma. What do you need help with? “
Fortunately, he can make up for lost time outside with general knowledge on how to use a keyboard.

“ Hey, hey! Don’t wanna go over here! Just- trust me on that! Listen, I know a detour, just wanna avoid this spot. There’s like some sorta dead cat. “
Just underneath the bush was some sort of ditch, the brush was inconveniently just in rot of of a passage to the sidewalk, and yet, the smell corrodes - ingraining itself into the grass and the air with the scent of rot that emitted from it. It was clearly suspicious, not quite anything no one wants to raw near, but just pure pretension was something Connor could leave it at, taking precautions to ensure that no one dwells nearby the thing was .. Well, maybe a bit more suspicious, but he couldn’t just let the remains of his own corpse lay there for whoever might be curious and maybe a lil’ fucked in the head to come and discover. And so, there he was. Connor, standing in the middle of a pathway, aggressively standing right between the pathway and a local cluster of brushes and trees with a pair of knitted brows.
Because god forbid, someone mistake him for some sort of skinwalker. Conversing with a man, mainly out of paranoia and out of protectiveness of his little ditch, hoping that maybe, maybe someone wouldn’t have to glance an eye towards wherever the fuck he’s been stashing his shit as of recent, considering the therefore lack of places he could put them in. A vault would be great, but what can you expect, y’know? “ Still cleaning it up, yknow? Just waiting for someone to come over and just take my shift so--, yeah. That’s all! Go on your day! “
It wasn’t as though Connor was entirely disconnected from the outside world from the inside of his confinement. No, rather, he’d allowed some window before he’d ever get outside those slits that they call windows. And from where? The internet cafe, of course! And the outside world turned out to be no different, except they were less.. Well, they didn’t censor as many things that Connor would find on there. It made the entire experience a bit more enjoyable, he’s gotta say. he stepped into the cafe once more, though he’d have to get here in the early mornings, he’d take a moment to try and look for.. Well. A job. And a place to stay. Neither have actually resulted in anything good, not yet ( and hopefully not for too long, ) and thus, seating himself down, it was that time again that he’d be allowed to lurk online in attempt to find something he could do.
Click. Tap. Tip. His mouse dragged tabs open and closed them when he found them to be a bit over his capabilities, and just too far for him. Of course ,eh’d have a few lists on where he could stay, but the amount of them actually worthwhile could only be counted on his fingertips, and.. Not to mention he’s never developed any real job skills at all. Well, shit. This sucks. Though, if there was one thing that was bothering him a bit more, it’d probably be the conspicuous tapping and amateurish space-key slams as though a toddler was trying to gibberish their way into an url. Except instead of that, it’s actually a grown muscular man that could probably snap him in half if he tried. Way to blow the stereotype, buddy.
Later, he’d come to realize something. Watching this guy struggle to just try and type something into the bar was a bit.. Sad. And it wasn’t a view he could handle for long, holy shit. He leaned forth, though as much as he didn’t want to, didn’t seem like anyone else was keen on approaching the guy. “ Hey. Buddy. Just say it if you need help doing shit. Keyboards aren’t for everyone. “
“I have…no idea what you said but it sounds fun and your cute so it’s okay.”
“ I-, listen, “ It’s not often he gets called ‘cute’, but honestly, he’s.. Not too comfortable taking it from a stranger. Reaction clear on his face as he quickly brushes past it with a subtle shake of his head. Nevermind. Moving on. “ I said I’m looking for the Foundation. You seen a weird circle with arrows pointing into it? I’m asking, if you could just.. Help me look for something like that, alright? “
“Throwing. .not sure when I was throwing things but your welcome.” Gil doesn’t understand. ..things like that. “What con ?” Gil knows what cons are but he didn’t think he started one yet. IF he started it it would have ended with so much money.
“Oh I’m not an Ocean man really. The ship never got to sail. But I’m Gil !” He smiled and turned to walk backwards and face him. “Not really no. It’s really harmless here unless you pick fights with burly men.”
And this is the part where it starts getting weird. He’s either super immersed into some roleplaying game, or the more likely answer, the guy’s a legitimate fucking pirate. And with being around anomalies for the past seventeen years he’s been alive out of twenty-two, he’d say the latter is the more believable answer between the two of them. He gave a subtle nod as though he understood, yeah, totally on the same page here.
“ Damn. Shipwreck? Went onto some shallow waters, all.. Arrrr, yknow? There she blows, there she fuckin’ sinks. - Connor. “ He quickly introduced himself and cursed himself for jinxing the situation, taking moments to glance towards the bright neon signs advertising food and other luxuries he kinda wished he could afford normally. “ .. I mean, you don’t think there’d be bouncers waiting around to beat up the homeless, right? I’m just hoping that we haven’t built the wall yet and turned into the most capitalistic shithole that I’m kinda sure we’re already in. “
.. Alright, so it’s come to this. That he’d finally have to go down to this, fretting into the cloth of the Goodwills blouse he’s been grabbing at or the past few minute. He’s only.. Gotten at least five quarters since his time begging, his eyes glancing towards the doorway repeatedly, back and forth - back and forth, as he internally mapped the perfect escape route, (as perfect as could be, not exactly as good as one would expect. ) He kept taking shallow breaths, and dear lord, he probably would’ve just wanted to stay in his cell and just live by the rules on a bleak wallpaper with just as bland days with the common reddish hue that would stain the paint. But, that would mean taking back that freedom that he’s been spontaneously given from some god-forsaken creature fuck knows. He’d slowly, surely, attempt to move towards the cash register, passing through the hangers, hopefully unnoticed within the racks of dull blouses that blended in with the one he held in his hand, and the pair of jeans he’s been pretending he’s bought for at least fifteen minutes.
And, well, that fucked up quick. His face met with someone’s shin. Ducked down to a crouch as he frantically backed up and winded himself in shock. Okay, update: plan failed, what the fuck does he do now. Giving a sputter, he’d just offer the most awkward, strained smile he’s had to pull in the past week he’s been around, and offer just a low, “ .. Hi there. Just.. Pretend you didn’t see me, yeah? “
His words left her equally confused and offended, but America tried not to think much of it. She didn’t know this guy, so really, what he said meant next to nothing to her. Something she had learned a long time ago was to not care about what humans thought about her, but that was typically when it came to opinions about her as a person, not about her abilities. This guy saying she wasn’t that special, it irked her, because one of the few memories she had of her mothers involved them telling her that she was special, that she was unique.
But, she knew he didn’t know that, so she tried not to let her annoyance show as she spoke. “I’ve never tried, but with some practice, I’m sure it’s possible,” she stated with a shrug, pulling her phone out. “And no, I only go to the moon when I want to get the fuck out of this place, but I can’t stay long or else this place makes me want to come back, and I hate that homesick feeling.” She scrolled through Twitter for a moment before she checked the weather, and let out a small sigh as she looked back at him. “It’s gonna rain today, I’m pretty sure, and it’s America.. America from the Utopian Parallel.”
Well, on the bright side, he’s had some idea on what parallel universes were, thanks to a friend. While talking was a pain considering how the he guy would teleport in the midst of conversation, he did get a few stories of what other universes were like. Some were perfect, some were horrible, some had this creepy smiling guy that complained about getting shot for being too smiley at the wrong time, but hey, he’s not him. So, the chances of this being real were at once more, at a all-time high, considering the fact that she was flying around seconds ago. “ That’s patriotism if I’ve ever heard it. I’m Connor. From the Foundation. “
“ How’s the moon like, anyways? Never really got to get there, mainly because there wasn’t really a reason for me to go there besides to get thrown at .. Weird things on the moon to see what happens. Not much of a tour. Do they have moon tours over in that parallel? “ I mean, surely, there’s going to have to be some sort of super scientific advancement made over there if it was actually Utopian to fix all the world’s problems. He tried to keep his expectations low, - ‘it was nothing he hadn’t seen before, ‘ the reminder rung in his head like a bell, “ .. And uh. How’d you get here? Mean like, sorry if I’m asking too many questions, but Iunno how the fuck I got here either, so I’m hoping you might have something. “
“Well that’s boring. Not liking stealing.” He scoffed. “But i like your outfit.” Gil says brightly, fixing the buckle on his pirate clothes. “Oh ! We never have high end resturants on the Isle either but ! I’ve been here a bit so I know the ins and outs of what’s good and what’s not.” Not really but he’ll say anything to be looked on in a good light. “Come on ! I’ll show you the best spots.” The pirate said.
“ Throwing screwballs here. Didn’t think you would, but uh. Thanks. “ And he’s only slightly uncomfortable, but surprisingly pleased! Though, he did take note of the other’s... LARP outfit, was that were they caled. His lips gave out to a side-handed grin as he opened his mouth; “ Missed the bus from your con, man? “ - Yeah, he was just going to skim over that ‘isle’ bit. Maybe he was from an island, who was he to judge? But he was willing to help him out of his shitty situation, so he couldn’t be too picky with who guides him out of it.
“ Aight, lead the way, Ocean man. “ And not even a name to be given, but - there was also one thing that he was going to ask; “ Real quick, just so I can brace myself. Nothing’s gonna try and swipe my head off like a rat going at a slice of cheese, right? “
Tim looked at his cup again as if the coffee would magically appear in it. He smiled and shrugged. “It could be worse” he shrugged and looked longingly at the counter. there was a long line for coffee. He sighed and shook his head. He would just wait till it died down… if it died down that was. “I’m Tim i haven’t seen you around but then my nose is usually in a book or working on something so i don’t see many people around” not to mention nights out trying to fight crime.
“ Not even sure why you’d wanna see me around, but alright. Thanks. “ - He shifted uncomfortably. He didn’t mean for there to be a proper conversation, much less any sort of introductory or- yeah, really, he didn’t expect anything to pop from out of the blue, but here he was; talking a stranger, who definitely didn’t know him. Nope, not.. Not at all. “ ... I uh. I’m Connor. “
And that was the best he could offer, his eye dancing across the establishment in hopes of finding something else to focus on, and as much as he wanted to make it subtle, it was almost clear as day that he was fairly nervous in the company of whoever Tim was. Wasn’t he supposed to ask something?..
Oh, right. “ You know anywhere I can stay? I have literally nothing on me. “
“That’s the wrong garbage.” Gil said. “You’re supposed to go to ones in high end restaurants. Not diner ones. Diner ones you can just steal the sweets there and go.” Gil says, wanting to help.
“ Not too much of a fan of ‘stealing’ think I’m gonna get like a few extra minutes of jail time considering this - bad boy I’m in. “ A vague gesture given to the bright orange jumpsuit he’s been stuck in for the past few days; though seemingly more on the ‘dirty’ side of it, sides smothered in mud and the greenish stains of grass from his attempts to take a nap in the park. “ Then again. Not that much of an issue. Might be a better situation considering that I’m seconds and five quarters away from pulling guilt-trips on people on the subway. “
“ .. And on that note, where’s a high restaurant? Never actually been to one or.. Seen one, for that matter, but so far about every light hurts my eyes, so I’m going off of which one makes me wanna scratch them out the most, you know? “ Once again, adjusted to the dark went many ways; though the lit cell lights were always a pure blank sheet of light, there was something about flickering red and blue neon flashes that left a lingering sunspot in his eyes. It was a little better than looking directly at the sun, he could say.
Personal update, a voice rang in his head, none other than his own - bushes aren’t great.
It’s about time he’d try to look for some sort of homeless shelter, pulling a twig out from the side of his bushy hair - not like it was anymore frivolous than it was before his appearance ‘escape.’ And then again, he’d always have to remind himself of the lurking danger; that someone - somewhere - might just be looking over his shoulder unbeknownst to himself. Of course, there was no clue to that, maybe they actually were good at hiding who they were, more than he thought - he always saw people to be a lil’ dull when they couldn’t figure out that something suspicious was going on in the back scenes, but that was likely because he was never in the audience in the first place; never been in the light that his vision had already adapted to the night as clear as could be. He assumed this, generally, because - agh.
This was getting him nowhere. He was hungry and he could feel his internal crisis kick in again from the result of years worth of isolation and fear and -... Yeah. Okay. He had an idea. Settling into the back corner of some sort of alleyway, and spotting what he assumed to be the usual garbage can. Bullseye.
It’s not like he can die from eating rotten food. I mean, actually - it’ll just hurt a lot! But it’s better than starving until then. He lifted the cover wide open, before going to lean forth, attempting to see if he could just wrench something from below, accompanied by a plethora of “ Ew-, ew, ew, ew, ew, fuck. “
Killian stood on the outskirts of DC where the Potomac river flowed and sighed. “How far do you think you could sail the river before the magic surrounding this place messed with your head?” He was always leery about magic despite his wife being quite skilled in the magic department. “Does this.. curse or whatever you want to call it follow to true division lines of the city?”
“ .. Well. Never actually went sailing. Or seen a river, so I can’t really tell you. I mean, I’ve seen a lake, hope that counts. “ Connor shrugged, it’s not as though he didn’t find the guy interesting with the way he asked that, but it was a bit off, having just stood around and.. Well. This happened. And for the record, no, he didn’t really follow what the guy was saying with that last comment of his, but he faltered non, just going with it. “ Iunno. I don’t think it’s really a curse either. More like.. It kinda reminds me of someone stuffing a bunch of action figures in a dollhouse. I think if it was a curse then most of us would be in some sorta pain by now. “
Magic, the strange things that went on in her life, there was nothing quite like this but the mind of Cheryl Blossom was quite numb to the fact that her life was chaotic at the seems, this? Being stuck in a strange city? It was mediocre. The young woman figured, she best start with her assignment she was beyond behind for, her textbooks clad to her chest, her powerful passionate stance in which she hoped intimidated others. She made her way down the streets to the cafe she worked at, colliding with another face in the middle of the street. “Do you mind, you meddling idiot!” Cheryl scoffed, a soft cry as she brushed down her cardigan, squatting down to pick up her books. “Sorry, sorry - I’m just having an awful day.” She was quick to apologise for her insults.
“ ... Yeah, uh, if that’s your second reaction I’m gonna have to ask - you should probably work on that. “ His only real response to the matter. It’s not as though he was always bumped into - in fact, there were some scientists back at headquarters that would bump into him and then also blame him for existing in that pathway, not like they could’ve seen him while wearing the brightest thing in those neutral-palettes hallways. But, hey, this.. Wasn’t a scientist! It was just some chick, no need to be a dick, actually. She said sorry.
“ I can tell. Probably didn’t sleep at all if you couldn’t catch the guy in front of you with.. Like, twenty-twenty vision. Kinda impressive. You drop any-- wait, shit, you did, hold on. “
And, well. Maybe it was a bit too late to complete undo that that first impression, he could at least relieve some of it’s negative implications. Ducking to a crouch to try and help the young woman collect her books. “ This supposed to be some kinda homework? Didn’t think they’d be as thick as Godzilla’s dick, Christ. “
