To celebrate International Women’s Day, here are some illustrations by British mycologist Anna Maria Hussey (1805 – 1853), who was one of the few female natural historians and scientific illustrators during the Victorian period.
Hussey is attributed with the quote, “I am always under the uncomfortable impression that the thing that I am doing is not the right thing”.
