With Vaard being engaged now, what happened to his daughter? Is she no longer canon?

Rue's doing just fine! Nothing about either of them is being retconned at all, just moving forward. Time has passed so she's now in school (she was at an arcane boarding school in Dalaran but, uh, I need to find another school for that now after TWW) but she's still canon and doing well! Just growing up. She's been a baby for a wee bit too long when my intention was to always gradually age her, but she's off making friends and learning how to not be quite so much of a menace with her magic (or even more so of one if she wants to be sneaky about it)

One day she'll be grown up, inherit the rings vaard's been wearing that belonged to her mother, and find her own life, but that's a ways away still.

In the short of it, he met a druidess at a bonfire bash well back in BFA and worked with her adoptive daughter for a while when she was in his classes. Through various misadventures and tribulations for the next six years, they both refused to acknowledge or admit any developing feelings whatsoever for several years after until Almaeth was almost killed which made him realize there were a lot of things he would regret if they went unsaid. They've been together ever since. It wasn't anything too dramatic or spectacular, just a very slow, very long build up over a long time.

She's a lot more outgoing and risk taking than he is which pulls him out of his comfort zone. She's been extremely healthy for him.

They have a small farm together in Elwynn currently, and right now they're in Eversong helping out on their own volition.

I've been learning Rebelle 5 here lately and being highly experimental with a few pieces of various other games, like my current play through of Ark's new Lost Colony expansion with @pridemother-scribbles, I ride a Malwyn named Malady and she rides a Solwyn named Io. And then our favorite horses from Red Dead Online.

Whatever game lets me remotely make a Vaard, I will make a Vaard

I really want to get back to drawing and posting again. I sure miss it. Poor health the last several years has really limited what I've been able to do, but I'm slowly starting to sketch and scribble again regardless, aiming at not worrying if they're finished or tidy. I'm learning a new program (Rebelle 5, by drawing a LOT of dragons. Most of these below are still in Clip except for one), and still developing Vaard and progressing his story just as much as ever, albeit in the background. (Midnight has been tasty for his already existing struggles with the Light)

Hopefully I'll be posting sometime soon!

He's currently retired after getting messed up in a warfront at the end of BFA, he can go wherever he wants now, got that coffee shop in Stormwind, got a farm in elwynn where he lives happily with his talbuk and is currently engaged. Life's been looking up.

There is a questline on Voidstorm I think you will love.

I really did! I did it with a friend and we both had a fantastic time reading what we both saw. The draenei version gives SO much more context and I loved how much effort went into all of the different dialogues, even for man'ari draenei and demon hunters. I really hope Tul'amar gets a closure quest or sticks around as a more prominent character for a while. If that's the last we see of them I'll be sad.

Every time I think wow can't possibly get any prettier, the art team ups it time and time again. Midnight is absolutely GORGEOUS. I can't get enough. Whole sections that looks straight out of concept art but I can run around in it like a normal zone.

Midnight is going to be a rather interesting expansion for Vaard. His ability with Light is shaky at most but he's good at hiding it. He has the training but not the apt, scraping through by the skin if his teeth to a paladin title at the barest minimum.

Along with some past PTSD, calling on Light is done reluctantly which doesn't help but he's learned to fake his way through shortcomings, hidden in the masses while he fights more like a warrior than a paladin, only able to muster short bursts and can't maintain Avenging Wrath.

I'm very curious where/how Midnight's going to go and if that helps or harms his abilities.

He would honestly be much happier being anything but a paladin, but at this point it's stubborn routine and all he knows/was brought up in despite his lack of aptitude for it.

Some of what I've been working on in my house. Nelf inspired interior built into a tree, accessed via a few short jumps with the living space constructed entirely in a nighttime skybox room. Heavily still a WIP, as I ran out of budget and have to wait until my next level up (,:

The new skybox rooms makes for a wonderful perspective window. Still a work in progress but the effect is so nice.

New year, new art. I have so much rust to knock off. Trying more of a tarot style that was quite fun. Picked lilies for rebirth since Vaard's come a long way in the last 13 years, and developed and overcome a lot as a person since the crash.

Vaard is now officially retired from the Stormwind forces, runs a small coffee shop, and has moved out of Stormwind to a small farm in Elwynn where he's raising talbuk. Doesn't mean he can't take more adventurous jobs on the side, life can get a little boring always at home, but they'll be on his terms now. He's moving on and healing and finding a life on Azeroth finally.
