"Why the….why would you put coffee in a styrofoam cup? You’re going to burn yourself." He sighed. "I am not in need of assistance from an amateur, thank you."
"W-well that’s all they had in the staff lounge," Trys stuttered, feeling the tips of her ears start to burn. No one had a knack for making her feel stupid like Sherlock did. "And maybe I meant that uh, I could just watch you work or uh, something. I won’t say anything," She trailed off awkwardly, chewing on her lip. She was incredibly thankful that she didn’t have to work with him on a regular basis. Although, if she did actually manage to become a cop that was liable to change.
He squinted, observing. “Why are you so nervous?” he asked.
"I just, um wanted to make a good impression and it seems like I haven't so I think I'm going to go and I'm sorry for wasting your time." Trys walked a little further into the room to set down the coffee and started slowly edging out of it, feeling incredibly awkward.

The man walked into the morgue at Bart’s, still half-asleep. He didn’t bother to take off his coat, but he put down his things. He yawned as he turned around, but furrowed his eyebrows when he saw Trystin.
“‘The Bloody hell are you doing here?”
Trys flushed for a moment, feeling strangely guilty. “Oh, uh I thought, since my dad’s working here today and I have the day off school, maybe you wouldn’t mind a little assistance on your case or whatever. I mean I don’t have to, but since I um am planning on you know, studying to be a cop I thought that maybe I should have some first hand experience and well-” She stopped herself suddenly, aware that she was rambling. “I also brought you coffee, black two sugars, that’s right right?” She held the styrofoam cup towards him a little gingerly, half expecting him to snap at her.

Almost Awake
"Yeah, just gimme a minute," Trys mumbled, dumping a large quantity of sugar into her coffee and remembering the milk seconds later. She picked up the mug and sipped it gingerly. Enjoying the warmth it provided her. Trystin shuffled towards the couch, not really paying attention to her surroundings, just absorbing the smell of the coffee. She plopped herself down, curling around the steaming mug.
Ollie cringed at the amount of sugar and milk her sister poured into her coffee. The thought of it made her shudder- all that sweetness and cream ruining perfectly good coffee. Some was alright but that amount was just- nope. She followed Trys into the living room, though, watching as her sister came to life with the coffee. When she was sure that Trystin was awake enough to understand her, Ollie smiled, checking her phone again.
"So I’m in line for a flat with a friend of mine an’ I might be movin’ out soon." She said without preamble. It was about time she moved out again. She still had her job and enough saved out to move in with a roommate or two. It was easy to live with her parents, sure, but she couldn’t forever. She didn’t even know if her mum would let her stay there- she probably would but Ollie liked to deny it- but she knew that her dad didn’t mind. She did, though, and she wanted to get back out on her own.
Trys closed her eyes, then opened them for what felt like the first time that day. Suddenly she was properly awake, something that always sort of surprised her. She listened as Ollie said her piece, then nodded. "Well, I'd be lying if I said I was surprised I guess. But do you really have to go?" Her voice was wistful. Trystin didn't want Ollie to go, but she could understand her desire to. Sometimes all she wanted to do was leave and drift wherever the wind took her. Living with her dad, going to the same school every day to see the same people could be rather confining.

"I’ll be ok Quinn," Trystin assured him with a small smile. "Now come on I’m sure we can get some street meat around here somewhere. Wanna have lunch with me?" She was starving, having skipped breakfast that morning and almost arriving late to class anyway. Punctuality was really not her strong suit.
"You’d better be. You know how good I am with a blade and I will cut a bitch for fucking you over." He grinned through it, the expression almost misplaced in its cheerfulness- but it really only covered a viciousness that he wasn’t sure she knew about. His family had a vague idea about how well he could use a blade, but they probably didn’t know about how well on other people he could. He stepped back again, considering. "I’m not really hungry, but I should probably eat." He nodded his affirmation, closing the distance between them in one stride. It was fine if she was closer to them while they were doing something family related, but in a social setting he didn’t want them to be seen with him.
"That's a little over-dramatic, don't you think?" Trys asked, tucking a stray hair behind her ear. She noticed his distance with a sort of detached interest, seeing but not observing or thinking anything of it. She brushed off the comment, shaking her head. "Come on I smell hot dogs around here somewhere and they usually have vegy dogs too," Well that was the dream anyways.

Head Canon: Trys is a vegetarian. She doesn't like to eat meat and she knows it's silly, but it just makes her sad.

"Glad you liked it," Trys giggled, standing to mock curtsey at him. She was only teasing, of course. "So what are you doing way out here?" The park and trails were rather out of the way and they weren’t something that tourists often spotted. Most people didn’t stumble onto them, they knew where they were going.
Aidan shook his head at her curtsey before he than answered her, “I’m just walking around. I actually do that a lot. I’ve never seen you around here before. I’m Aidan by the way. Who might you be and do you mind asking if you come around the trail often. I’m just curious. I’ve never seen another person on this trail before.”
"All these questions," Trystin grinned, sticking her hands into the little pockets on her shorts. "Well it's good to meet you Aidan, my name's Trystin. Honestly, I just like being outside it's so lovely out, so I come here when I can, but you know that's not a lot." Trys leaned back against the tree, one foot propped against it. "Yeah, this trail doesn't usually get a lot of traffic. That's part of what I like about it though, because it's so long and out of the way you don't see tons of people and I think that generally it's just better than some of the in city parks. Plus it gives me cool ideas for sketching," She waved her small sketchbook at him.
