Val was walking, confused, where the hell had Jamie gone. Â It was so damn rude to leave a sleeping woman in your bed! Â She grunted and was knocked down as something ran into her, yet she couldnât see anything. Â âHey! What the fuck?â Â

Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired
âAll Tylenol would do is make you worse.â Jamie whispered before he wrapped her up in the blanket to start carrying her to his car. âBut I will have a doctor at the house by the time that we get there. You wonât have to worry about a thing while you are living with me.â He cursed himself for letting it get this bad as he saw the new bite marks that littered her skin. Fuck, he was going to have to hunt down every scent that he smelled on her body to punish them. They had touched his woman. Jamie Hayes didnât share well when he didnât want to play.
Val bit her bottom lip, her head throbbing as he moved her. Â Her head lulled, feeling too heavy to hold up. Â Her head landed on Jamieâs shoulder and she sighed softly in content. Â Despite the fact that he was an alpha and a supernatural and she had spent her entire life distrusting supernaturals, Val trusted Jamie. Â She wasnât even sure why, but she did. Â She thought she knew him. Â He would take care of her like he said he would.
âOk, Iâm doing a survey and I need to know, whatâs your favorite part of spring?â
âSpring showers. Â And lucky me I live in London where showers are abound.â Â
Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired
He grabbed a cool washcloth from her bedside to wipe off her forehead. âYes, it is. Donât even think of that.â Jamie whispered softly as he wiped the sweat off of her body. âYou will be coming home with me. No more time in the cells. I claimed you, Valandra, no one else will touch you without your permission.â His voice was soft as he made sure that she was completely free of all that sickness sweat.
Val moaned softly. Â The towel felt so good as it moved over her sensitive skin, but it also left her cold as it moved across her body. Â Her teeth chattered lightly. Â Sheâd been sick before. Â Sheâd had to care for herself before. Â So knew she had a high fever, she just also knew that werewolves ran hot and so she didnât know what normal werewolf temperatures were and how high her fever was. Â It could just be a normal, non-dangerous fever. Â She tried to burrow under her blanket because she was feeling so cold. Â âDonât they have Tylenol for werewolves?â she chattered. Â
Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired
Jamie had heard through Qhuinn that Valandra had somehow gotten very sick. Who did that little girl think she was to scare him? As he made his way to her cell, he had to stop himself from shaking since he was so scared. Scared that he was going to lose her before he finally got her. Once he saw her he took in a deep breath then walked into her cell. âOh Valandra.â He whispered softly before kneeling at her bedside. âI should have come sooner. This is all my fault.â Tears tracked down his cheeks as he ran a hand through her hair. âLet me take you home.â
Valandra had to be imagining things. Â She recognized that she had a fever and that maybe she wasnât entirely in the right mind, but Jamie was there and when she pried her eyelids up, forcing her eyes open by sheer will, she thought she saw tears on his face. Â âNot your fault,â She said softly. Â Her eye fell closed again. Â She was so tired. Â A small moan passed her lips and her teeth started to chatter.
Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired
Val lay on her cot in the cells, teeth chattering. Â She felt so cold but her blanket seemed to give her no warmth. Â She was sweating and burning up. Â âIs this it?â she asked nobody in particular, a little delirious from her fever. Â
When was the last time she ate? Â The full moon, over a week ago. Â When was the last time she was allowed out of this damn cell? Â The full moon. Â When was the last time that she hadnât felt pain? Â The full moon. Â When was the last time she saw Jamie. Â The full moon. Â Stupid full moon. Â Was that right? Â She couldnât even think straight. Â All she knew was that she was hot and cold and her head hurt and she felt... like she was dying. Â âI thought supernaturals donât get sick,â she said with a sardonic bark of laughter.

The End of a Childhood
Valandra Watson was so excited to get home from school. Â She had gotten an A+ on her english paper and couldnât wait to get home and show Meredith. Â The 13 year old girl got off the school bus at the corner. Â It was just a block away to get to her house. Â But as the little girl moved, backpack bouncing against her lower back as she walked, she realized something was wrong. Â There was an ambulance parked in front of the street. Â Mrs. Potters was outside, her little yorkie on a pink leash. Â Val wondered what was wrong, but dread started to fill her as she got closer and closer, realizing that the ambulance was in front of her house. Â
Val ran past a policeman on her porch as he stood there jotting things in a notepad. Â He cried out after her but she was already inside. Â âMom?â Val yelled out to Meredith. Â Had she fallen? Â Where was she? Â Was she hurt? Â âMom!â Â Val called out a little more panicked now when Meredith didnât call out to her. Â
The police officerâs hand landed on her shoulder to turn her towards him. Â
âWhereâs my mother?â Val asked, panic creeping into the young girlâs words. Â
âIâm so sorry,â the officer said. Â He started talking, but Valâs ears started to ring and she couldnât hear anything. Â Her hands went cold and numb and her head started to shake of its own accord. Â
She shrugged off his hands, running to the kitchen. Â Meredith had to be in the kitchen. Â They were going to bake cookies tonight. Â In the kitchen, Valâs legs went out from under her. Â There was a black body bag on a stretcher. Â She could make out the contours of a body. Â No no no no no no no no no.
Val couldnât believe this. Â She had to see Mer. Â She wouldnât believe it unless she saw it. Â So she strode to the black bag and unzipped it. Â Val took in Meredithâs features in fractions. Â A golden curl falling across Meredithâs forehead, and then another and another until Val recognized Meredithâs curly mane of hair. Â Next there was an eyebrow, a couple of stray hairs were growing back and Val knew that Meredith would be plucking them soon to keep them in order. Â There was a small crease between her eyebrows, a little frown line that only appeared when Val came home with a bad grade or she was worried about something. Â Her skin was too pale, Val realized, but she followed the pale skin down the bridge of Meredithâs nose to her lips. Â They were matte pink, just a shade darker than Merâs lips. Â An eye was next. Val gasped when she met Meredithâs blue eyes with her own. Â Everything went blurry and a moment later a water drop landed on Meredithâs face and Val realized that it was her own tears falling onto her motherâs face. Â
The sound suddenly turned back on for her. Â The police officer was at her side trying to get her away from the both but seemingly afraid to touch her, not wanting to upset her more. Â Val trailed her hand over Meredithâs eyes to close them. Â Then she gripped Merâs shoulders, laying her head on the womanâs chest. Â She clung to her motherâs body crying for what seemed to be hours, but was likely only minutes.Â
Then the police officer pulled her away, they zipped the body bag and took Meredith away. Â A social worker came and took Val. Â A heart attack they had said, she didnât feel any pain, they had said, everything was going to be alright they had said. Â But nothing would be alright again. Â Because Meredith was dead and Val had never felt so alone in her life. Â
âSee, now that sounded like flirting to me.â
âI.. I promise it wasnât,â Nolan said with a nervous smile
((OOC: It isnât giving me an image optionâŠ.))
âThanks,â he said softly, âI.. thank you, Iâm sure I look like a real freak of nature, big bad werewolf scared of little snakes, but you know .. thatâs the first dream I conciously remember having? When I was four, I had this nightmare about being chased by a snake and swallowed alive, it was so long ago that I canât remember most of what really happened when I was four but that dream is so stuck with me that I remember every single detail⊠isnât fear a funny thing that it can do that to you?â he asked quietly, giving her a small smile and a nod of agreement, âYeah.. I think so, Iâm still staying sober but I can atleast get a nice buzz from the sugar, what kind of booze do you like again?â
Val shook her head. Â âIâm terrified of spiders. Â I want to kill them all with fire. Â I am not even kidding you, I once literally lit a couch on fire because i was trying to get a spider.â Â Val sat back down. Â âWhiskey please, neat. Â Letâs try this again.â Â She gave him a flirty grin. Â
âI donât like being there. I much prefer to be at my mateâs flat, and thereâs too many memories I donât want to deal with at mine.â
âOkay, how about the movie theatre? Â Itâs early enough that there probably wonât be many people and we can just watch a movie, smoke weed in the back of the theatre like teenagers, and eat popcorn.â Â
âOh of course.â  He then shrugged. âYep, thatâs definitely true. Youâre the person I can hang out with and not want to fuck. I can handle some Chinese food. You could just hang out, and I mean, if you want a comfortable bed to sleep in, youâre welcome to have one. I donât sleep at my place anyway.â
Val frowned at Jaxsonâs words.  âYou donât sleep at your place anymore?  Why the hell not?  Okay spring me from this joint and letâs go hang out.âÂ
âI could do that. We could hang out a bit, you know, weed, movies, maybe even food. No sex though.â
âAw shucks, thatâs too bad, cause I really wanted to have sex with you today,â she said sarcastically. Â She rolled her eyes at his words. Â âMovies and weed and hanging out is all I ever want from you Jaxson. Â Sex was never our thing. Â Not even when you went all bossy alpha on my ass the first time we met. Â Although if you say the magic words I might kiss you. Â The magic words are âchinese foodââ Â
âYou do?â He then smirked at her. âItâs just weed, right? Itâs not some witch mojo. Witches are not at the top of my list, this week.âÂ
âJust weed,â She said with a laugh. Â âSo.. you just going to stand there or you going to invite me and my weed to watch sharknado with you?â Â
