Anyways SPOILERS and a theory below.
SO I'm absolutely obsessed with simon and his people from eden. The flashed to his life outside of this steel metal death trap is so fucking interesting.
So I couldn't catch all the shit they were talking about but they kept referencing this tree. Like the last tree. Over and over and over. Cut to a couple kids around a tree and such.
And from what I'm understanding after the whole quiet rapture. With all the plants and stars gone. They had to make do with the few space stations left in space so they have like zero resources except what they had. So no dirt. Nothing to feed the plants. We have nothing organic except well..
Humans. We turn to compost. Into dirt. To feed the plants and thats so visceral to me feeding the dead as nutrients for the next generation. And later on in the movie it showcases the sub being all grotesque. All sinew and bone and blood and all I can think of is.
If they cant use the space stations metal cuz surely at this point with submarine number 13. They dont want to waste anything. Was the fucking sub made of like....humans too? Like i know vikings used to use the bones of humans to make steel? So even if not the humans that are left. The fact that the blood ocean is fucking human blood. Means hey they get pretty creative with the blood and bones in that damn ocean to make shit.
So its just such a visceral thing to watch and realize the very fucking housing of that that damn sub could be made of just human. Raptured or otherwise.
Just blah blah blah. The cycle of life and death. Blah blah thats why simon didnt die because eyyyy the fucking sub and him were connected and used the sub to grab oxygen from the blood ocean. Blah blah
