This was all kinds of fucked up. I love it
Orion is truly a Wildbow protagonist now. His own hands, his own mind betraying him. The only part of his new life that he still enjoyed - crafting, drawing , making art - manipulated and shredded as it is, taken away in a few seconds of distorted, malevolent noise.
But, despite everything, he found someone to live. Wildbow's writing doomed yaoi again, all's right with the world.

Alright, Seek 5.4.O was a 'put off sleep for a bit to emotionally decompress' sort of chapter
Holy fuck
It's really striking in comparison to a lot of post-apocalypse stuff like zombies, because the zombies or whatever other monster is usually weaker in some way.
But the cogs are just fucking nightmares on every level. There's no convenient headshot rule to disable them, they're just really tough with overwhelming offensive abilities and will always be replaced even if you do manage to kill one, while the survivors accrue more and more damage.
The reason people are present in this hellscape has less to do with any survivors succeeding for very long and more to do with the Belt just repeatedly sending people to replace the ones that die off.
It's so terribly bleak, a big horrible grind, minds and bodies deteriorating at a rapid pace, and the characters are aware that they just don't have very long and are desperate to accomplish anything they can, even if it's just to leave something behind of humanity.
Saturn — The Tyrant of Time, the Gatekeeper of Maturity
Saturn is not a benevolent father. He is a devourer. In Roman myth, he is the god of agriculture, but also of time and limitation. He castrated his father, Uranus, with the sickle — an act of rupture, a declaration that eternity would no longer reign untouched. Time had entered the world, and with it, decay.
Saturn’s greatest act of tyranny was his fear: the prophecy that his own children would overthrow him. To prevent destiny, he swallowed them whole. This is the essence of control: the desperate attempt to freeze reality, to prevent change, to dominate the inevitable.
But time cannot be stopped. Jupiter, hidden and preserved, returned to defeat him. The son dethrones the father. The cycle completes. Saturn becomes the shadow — dethroned but not erased, banished but not powerless.
In astrology, Saturn is called the Lord of Karma. His lessons are not whispered, but carved into bone. He governs Capricorn, the climber who builds slowly, painfully, brick by brick. He rules the Return — the 29-year cycle where illusions collapse and only the real remains. To face Saturn is to face your own falsity.
Saturn’s power is not in granting; it is in denying. His scythe cuts away the excess, the illusions, the masks. He is not there to comfort you. He is there to initiate you.
In truth, Saturn is not the enemy. He is the mirror of your mortality. The keeper of the gate that asks: Can you carry weight? Can you build with stone? Can you endure the silence of time itself?
Without Saturn, we remain children. With Saturn, we die and are reborn.
