Your Name/Kimi no Na wa - Movie -

What a movie! I’m not a writer (wish I was) to give this movie a decent review. All I can tell you is, if you like anime then this is a must watch. Its currently raked #1 on my myanimelist.net and for good reason. Here is the trailer. 

Something I love about anime and anime movies that really comes out in this movie, is how you don’t only have two main characters you kinda have three, one would be Mitsuha (the girl) and Taki (the boy) and the third one would be the landscape of the town and the city, which really come alive through the animation of CoMix Wave Films. This is the first non-Ghibli film to make over $100 million at box office and is currently the fourth highest-grossing film of all time in Japan! So if you have nothing to do one evening sit down with some snacks and watch it you will definitely enjoy!

After The Trump - Video-

I love TV show talk shows, they are great, you have people who are as much into the show as you are if not more and they poke at the show and analyse it and so one. I’m sure you’ve seen some for breaking bad or game or thrones. What you haven’t seen is one from #Trump 

After The Trump, like the tittle says is a recapping of the trump administration like a TV show, they only have two episodes, but it really has the potential to be something really big, like a proper HBO show.

Legion - TV Show -

I’m not really into super hero shows, like the ones in Netflix. I saw Jessica Jones and I have to admit I didn’t like it and I like everything that David Tennant does. So that’s why I was hesitant to give Legion a try but the trailer won me over. I have to say its a weird show that’s all over the place but in a good way. There are constant flashbacks and a lot of confusion but somehow it works. 

You kinda get the feeling of X-men first class. If you can give this show a try you might not like it but if you are into shows and movies that talk about mental illness or if you liked Split, Vanilla Sky or Fight Club you might like Legion. I’m really enjoying it! Here is the trailer

Comics Explained - Video -

So if you were to ask me if I was into super hero comics I would most likely say no, not that I don’t like them, I’m just not that into them. I mean I love the Marvel films they are good fun. But when it comes to Marvel or DC comics I’m just not that into them, not enough to buy or read them,  but I do enjoy watching or hearing explanations about them.

 A couple of months ago a friend of mine recommend me a YouTube channel called ComicsExplained so I gave it a try and I’m a big fan now of the channel. The channel is run by Robert Jefferson who with his great enthusiasm explains whole arcs of comics series in 20-30 min videos. You might think the length of the videos are long and they are but that’s a good thing, the way Robert explains and talks is really entertaining and always leaves you wanting to watch the next part. 

I’m currently obsessed with his Injustice series - and arc where superman goes bad. His series about Red Sun where Superman is born in Russia instead of America is also very good. If you are even slightly interested in super heroes and comics give the channel a try.

lofi hip hop - Music

So lately I got recommended this live stream on youtube by youtube for studying and relaxing. Oddly at the time I was studying and the playlist I was listing to was annoying so I gave it a try. 24 hours later I’ve become some what obsessed with this type of music. Last night I played #PathofExile for HOURS  (was taking a break from studying) just listening to this music and it made it much more enjoyable. Life After -Podcast-

I love podcasts, listen to them wayyyy before #Serial, I actually started with #WelcometoNightvale. Ever since I’ve been fascinated with the way radio shows/podcasts can tell a story. Its a very different medium than video and since they only have audio to work with, they have to put more effort in voice acting and writing. Life after (A.K.A life.af/ter) is a science fiction thriller about a man, Ross, who lost his wife, Charlie,  in a car accident and has become obsessed with her voice clips. After 8 months of her accident he starts receiving new voice messages from his dead wife. He has to figure out if this is real or if he is going crazy.   I suggest you listen to the first episode and give it a try. After the first episode I was hooked and ended up binge listening to the 10 episode. I loved it all and kept me on my toes for all 4 and a half hours. The ending was brilliant but did leave me wanting a bit more so hopefully there will be a second season.  It currently has a 4 start rating on iTunes which to me is a well deserved rating I will link to the show and to the first episode so you can give it a try.  First Episode [Pop Up Window]

Leap Day - Game-

You love pixel art, colorful screens and retro gaming? Then Leap Day is just for you! I started playing this game on my commute to work the other day and feel in love with the game. Its a fast paced action platformer where the goal of the game is very simple, reach to the top while collecting as many fruit as you can.

Each level is separated into different floors where the difficulty is increased with each higher floor. In each floor you have a checkpoint where you can use by spending 20 of the fruits you have collected or... by watching a 15 second ad. What I ended doing was just watching the ads since the higher you go in the level the less fruits you find. 

In Leap Day you are going to die a LOT but its OK. Its a bit like Meat Boy where the reason you die is not the games fault it’s yours, but that doesn’t put you off it just fuels you with frustration to complete the level. It is a very addictive game that I totally recommend if you are into simple retro games
