I was doomscrolling on TikTok one day and saw this

The first thing that came to mind while reading the description of unhealthy INTJ was Harley Sawyer.

That does fit Harley pretty nicely! Although of course his pathology is more complicated then a personality type. I feel like him seeing people as automotons might be due to deeper pathology and can be routed in stunted social/emotional development or something. But yeah that does match Harley pretty well!

I just realized that I never draw Harley Sawyer smiling, I usually draw him with an RBF expressions cuz I either think it's funny or just because I like drawing him in an RBF, but i like to think the only times he smiles is when he's being fake, just thinking of something evil, or when he sees someone else in pain, he enjoys the drama as well as fueling it, not that i think he gossips and all, i just think he likes to cause some problems between other people even if it isn't true, cause sometimes when someone from an abusive household you cause drama and chaos just to make your environment feel normal to them (not saying everyone would do that, some people would resort to that though i'm just explaining why i made this headcanon.)

And honestly I should draw him smiling more, like in a creepy manner, this drawing was for kicks and giggles, like I know I would enjoy drawing him in a more creepy atmosphere rather than just drawing him like i usually do, plus I want to use more colors to convey emotions, cause I'm the type of person that likes to try different things and see if I like it or not, but i think I might be able to pull it off cause I can draw teeth pretty realistically, in which it would look creepyer.

Harley was likely a preteen in YGP: Why am I so sure about this? This is why:

Elliot thinks it's strange that Harley doesn't want to have fun or takes the work completely seriously.

If this were an older group of children, then would that not be the bare minimum expectation? You wouldn't be surprised that they took the work fully seriously, you would be irritated that anyone didn't take the work seriously.

He also is surprised Harley doesn'n want to have fun. In a science program geared at older children, "fun" would not be upfront and it would not be a surprise Harley didn't do it. This to me makes Elliot's treatment of Harley even more ridiculous. In the older days sometimes teenagers were parentified and treated as adults, but Elliot is clearly writing in his own words a little boy who isn't acting like a normal little boy, and then acknowledging that he is still dealing with a young child.

And so,

I would put Harley as 10 - 12 at most, based on Elliot's own notes about what was normal for someone of Harley's age group.

I ALWAYS THOUGHT THIS, I really think he had to be a pre-teen at the time, probably 12 or 13. It just fits with Elliots words about him. For now my personal timeline of his ages goes like 1967: 13yo; 1990: 36yo; 1994: 40yo.

But it depends on wich year of the 60's did the YGP happen.

Did Harley go from straight to bi because of being with Val ?

I always see men who think they are straight realise they are also m-spec from dating girls who have always been m-spec; my relationship history certainly proves that anyway XD

I didn't know that was common! It's very interesting. The flag change itself isn't part of the lore, but more of a change in my personal Harley headcanons. Even so, I find what you said an interesting idea for his development!

I also like to explore my headcanon that he's demiaroace, or at least within that same spectrum (since I and my sona are grey aroace). I imagine that Harley felt admiration and a certain attraction towards scientists or important figures he admired, but without realizing it or thinking about it much. During his life and at university, he wouldn't have felt romantic or sexual attraction until he met Val, and even then it was a very selective and complicated process

I feel that he would only feel attraction after feeling a certain attachment to the other person, especially if something about them catches his attention, but it's an extremely selective process. I also have to consider that egocentric side of his mind, and how he might think he feels this way because he supposedly knows how to choose who would be convenient to have the privilege of being his partner, lol

I also think that Harley isn't someone who's interested in or researches the community. He's part of the spectrum and also bi, but he wouldn't know it outright with the labels. Maybe he'd find out eventually thanks to Valeria since she does research on the community and its labels, but he wouldn't give it much care either 🥲😅

I have seen your posts on the fandom for a while, and find your interpretations interesting so I have questions

How did Val and Harley meet ? Was it before Playtime or at Playtime ?

Which qualities in each other to Val and Harley like the most ?

How did Val react to Harley becoming a robot ?

Seeing as Val is a graphic designer as well as a physiotherapist did she actually design any of the toys herself ?

Also, I've noticed it says you are a non sharing yume, as much as I do involve myself in other people's interpretations of my favourite characters, I know other people have different boundaries, and I do post my own headcannons and AUs on my blog which may contradict other people's ships, just as a heads up

OMG thank you so much for the support and your questions! You have no idea how happy it makes me, even if it takes me forever to reply lmao 😭😭 The lore of my Yumeship is something I've been working on and changing over time, which is why I haven't released anything definitive yet. Same reason why I've created like 40 different AUs xD But I can still answer with what I have so far. Besides, I love making headcanons and discussing the character and my ship with other ppt fans and my friends.

1. For the first question, Harley and Valeria have known each other since before Playtime Co., specifically since college. They were both in their 20s, but Harley is older. They were basically roommates, and along with Bruno (who introduced them, partly because he didn't want to be Harley's roommate lol), they were a trio of friends (even though Harley insisted on not seeing it that way) in a college focused on health-related careers. Sometimes they were on the same internships as a multidisciplinary team, despite studying different majors. Later, after getting married, they worked together on their own rehabilitation concept called the Sawyer Concept.

2. Valeria sometimes finds it difficult to decide what she sees in Harley, and vice versa. Valeria loves how intelligent and determined Harley is, and even though their dynamic often involves constant arguments and a kind of frenemy-like dynamic, it's something she enjoys to a certain extent. And well, the fact that someone loves her makes her a little dependent since she doesn't have the best self steem (that's me 🤭). Harley sometimes finds her quite naive for his taste (he often uses it for his own benefit), but he was interested in how she frequently contributes or debates his ideas, yet they still agree. In a way, he had his personal reasons for considering her a "convenient" partner, despite how cold that may sound. Deep down, he does have some affection for her.

3. I'm still thinking about that question 😭 I have a main AU where Harley isn't so crazy, so that doesn't happen. Where Harley goes through the same thing as in the game, it's most likely that his fate will be hidden from her by the company, or they'll try to convince her that he died in the theater incident. Valeria would also be determined to know what really happened, but she would be shocked and disappointed if she were to learn everything that happened and the context surrounding it. She would fall into a very deep emotional conflict.

4. And lastly, yes, she would have designed several toys! Some rejected concepts and others got more advanced. I like to think that she would have made Candy Cat, but I'd like to imagine toy concepts she would have created when I can.

And yes, I'm nonsharing! My boundaries are usually limited to DNI doubles, and although most Harley ships make me uncomfortable (except for Harwhite a little, I also have my personal opinions over all them), I still have no problem interacting with anyone who likes them! Just don't mention them directly to me, making comparisons or anything like that.

Hayden would be the child of Harley and Valeria Sawyer! Though this would be for one of the AUs of my yumeship since i'm sure neither Harley and Val would really want children lol.

I imagine him to be a shy child that also hyperfixates on certain interests, plus he would be neurodivergent just like his parents XD. His name is similar to Harley's since I think he would want that, and also the phone he has is one of those toy ones that play music (Harley would get annoyed eventually).

Uh oh, Leith 'forgot' to tell Harley that he turned the long dead Elliot Ludwig into a toy, by practically mis-informing him that they're turning an orphan into a toy, now Harley not only infuriated with Leith, he’s also having Homicidal thoughts and is practically saying them aloud from time to time.

Donno why did the comic I thought it would be funny, but I guess I am Improving on comic making skills so that's a plus.

Thought none of you asked I'm just going to say it, cause I like yapping about ideas and such, no they did not preserve his body after he died, after they held a small funeral at the Playtime co factory, they buried his body at the cemetery, up until they realized they need to revive Elliot and made an attempt to revive, except by then his brain would have been fully decomposed, but luckily, or unluckily, they found his brain preserve in a jar with some preservation fluid.

Where did they find it you ask?!, they found that a certain 'someone' cut his body opened, during the funeral while nobody was around, and put the jar inside his stomach bowls, what a lovely gift to the company✨️
