Cheshire closed his eyes and listened to the whimsical tune that floated from his dearest, opening then upon feeling her hands on his paws. “Of course, Cheshire loves dancing with Alyss, nya!“ His floating voice exclaimed as he lifted onto his hind legs. With a puff of smoke, he shifted to his preferred form, the now humanoid cat crouching before his beloved mistress. After all, it’s not like she can dance with him on his smaller form. Well….she can, but it would be more like swinging round a doll and less dancing with a partner, he thought to himself as he grabbed her much smaller hands in his.

In the blink of an eye, the small paws become large enough to grasp her hands ; those claws are as just gentle and warm as ever. Her beloved friend, her cherished companion : how easy it is for him to brighten her lonesome features with a heartfelt smile, to let her brim up with happiness. curse vincent, curse vincent for even daring to lay a hand on him, may what that cursed child truly seeks for never come true for a hundred years ! Such dark thoughts are clouds in her light amethysts, a dark gleam. Yet, when she pulls her friend up, there is not a single trace of them ; only a song on her rosy lips. It is of joy and Abyss’ nature, a song that she used to sing in her younger moments. The rhythm, the course of sways and tapping of feet should be familiar to him even when their feet will be barely touching the floor !

Even without having to look at her, he felt her loneliness and loathing. Internally scolding himself for not visiting sooner, he brushed the snowy locks in her face to the side, the feel of her cheek briefly touch the back of his hand as he stood up. As much as he would like to curse that filthy creature with her, he would much rather enjoy his mistresses company than dwell on his past.

Hopping down from the cushioned seat where he was watching his mistress ponder, Cheshire padded over to her. Weaving himself in between her feet and rubbing against her calves before settling by her. “Hmm…Cheshire doesn’t know nya….maybe hide and seek nya?” His voice echoing out from the form seated by her. But surely this wouldn’t do either, they’ve played that game more times than he can count (one he is very good at and wins often too). “What would Alyss like to play, nya?”

After clearing out some chains that had wandered too close to Alyss’s sanctuary, Cheshire was making his way back to his mistress… That is until he heard a rather loud noise, and.. a voice? Whatever it was he better deal with it now, before it became a problem for him later.

Unfortunately, with a small hop on a boulder, the creature revealed to him is the last he wanted to see. “Shit..” cursing under his breath, Cheshire’s ears pinned back, knowing it was a bit too late to make himself scarce now that the other heard his bells. Maybe if he just ignores the other chain he might go away….

Unfortunately for poor Cheshire, the chain in question did indeed notice him. After making the chain run into a large rock and collapse, he twirled around, a huge grin on his face and called out for the cat.

“Yahoo, Cheshire, this really is quite fun. Do you want in on it? They’re so stupid, it’s laughable~”

The sullen feline watched as the other chain hit the wall and fall over. Normally he would give a snicker to the antics of the lesser intelligent chains, but given the one before him he stayed on his guard. Lest he end up being a victim entertainment for the man.

"No, Cheshire is busy, nya", moving to lick a large paw he huffed, before turning his side to him. Definitely not trusting him enough to give him his back. "Besides, don't you have anything better to do nya?"

The King of Hearts had been contractorless since Lacie’s death, but that didn’t stop him from making a menace out of himself from inside the Abyss.
