MORNING STRUGGLES
Caitlyn x f!reader
Summary: Every morning since Caitlyn’s right eye was damaged from her fight between Ambessa, she constantly struggles with her eyepatch. This morning, however, you decided to try and help her, wanting to make this day start off a lot better than others.
ARCANE SEASON 2 SPOILERS
Alright, we need to talk about how 4 principles of Noxus that Ambessa taught Caitlyn were used against her later:
Vision, might, guile and sacrifice
I'd like to talk about the last one today. I observed that we can interpret it in at least two ways:
Personally, I interpret that Caitlyn's sacrifice occurs when she loses her eye. This happens at the moment when she manages to untie that knot with magic stones around Ambessa's arm. By doing so, she weakens Ambessa, making her vulnerable to Mel’s attacks. But also loses her eye. This sacrifice is more than just a physical loss; it’s a deeply emotional and strategic choice. Caitlyn willingly sacrifices her sight in order to create an opening that could turn the tide of the war. Her decision is pivotal, as it shifts the balance and gives their side a real chance of victory. This moment highlights Caitlyn’s commitment to the cause, her willingness to give everything for the greater good, and her understanding of the risks involved in ensuring their survival.
But we can also interpret Caitlyn's sacrifice in another scene, one that also falls under the theme of guile. This moment occurs when Caitlyn betrays Ambessa in order to save Vander. For Vi. By doing so, Caitlyn risks everything: her position, her reputation, and her future. She knew that if Ambessa found out, she would likely retaliate in fury, and Caitlyn’s actions could have devastating consequences. This sacrifice is not only about protecting those she loves but also about risking her own path ahead. Caitlyn is fully aware that this decision could cost her everything, including the stability of the city and her career, but she makes it anyway, demonstrating the depth of her loyalty and the complexity of her character.
Personally, I prefer the first version. What do you think?

Okay but why aren't we talking about how iconic Jinx's entrance was here?
