Everything was going fine, I was quietly recovering from the hole Caitvi had left in my soul, and then I had the ridiculous idea of reading The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. Now, I’m not sure if, after finishing the three books, I’ll be functional again for a while...

So, like a perpetually starving animal, I started reading sapphic novels non-stop. And three months later, I decided to create a Bookstagram for my readings—just like thousands of other little neurodivergent lesbians before me!

So, about ten books per month, all featuring sapphic stories and, of course, romance... And if, like me, you’re craving intense and passionate stories with complex and badass characters, Caitlyns, Vis, Sevikas… in short, women, feel free to follow or send me recommendations! Let me add some arguments

this modern day fandom culture is killing me because we’re losing the art of shipping

these days you have to publish a dissertation and make a 100 page powerpoint with textual and subtextual evidence to back up the fact that you like seeing two characters together because apparently people can only ship what’s canon now

back in my day we used to be able to ship characters who never interacted,

we used to ship characters that didn’t even exist within the same media

guys can we talk about for one second how nona kissed gideon as soon as she looked at her and her reasoning was "You looked like you wanted to be kissed."

lets backtrack. Gideon. Opens her eyes. The first thing she sees is Harrow('s body). Harrow. Harrow. And Nona, who reads people like books (joke is nona cant read) sees how badly Gideon wants to kiss Harrow('s face) and kisses her.

Can we talk about what this meant to Gideon for one moment. Can we talk about the implications of this please. guys please.

God. Jod, Alecto and Glob... Gideon must have been fucking devastated. All she's ever wanted to do was be loved and accepted and valued, not to mention wanting to kiss Harrow's adorable face.

The vast majority of Gideon's narration in Gideon the Ninth is focused on how unattractive Harrow is. she has a pointy face, she looks like a ferret, she's a scrawny little stick girl, etc.

Of course we all knew that was bullshit the instant hero might have been in danger, because even though Gideon's internal monologue is full of negative things to say about her, she is trying to pry that hatch open with her bare fucking hands.

We all knew it, I say like I've been in the fandom for years. But we all knew that Gideon was full of crap when she was talking about Harrow. And it all came out in the pool scene.

Then Gideon went and committed Sudoku to save the day, and they were separated for way too long. I remember being a teenager and being separated from my girlfriend for like three months.

That was too long.

Then some jag off piloting your girlfriend's body shows up, head shaved, looking exactly like Harrow used to dress herself, except that her eyes are golden so it's not her. She walks right up to her dumbass, and KISSES her.

That has got to be an extremely confusing moment, painful and full of regret, but also probably the best moment Gideon has had since she was brought back into her body.

It's such a deep moment, and I could fucking talk about it for hours.
