What Does Quality Child Care Look Like?

If you are looking for a day care facility in your area, it is highly recommended to consider or ask the following:

How will you keep my child safe?

What will my child learn?

What are your core values/mission statement? Does it coincide with my personal beliefs and household rules?

What is the student to teacher ratio? (At what group capacity is my child losing educational benefit?)

My child has __(insert special condition here)__. Can you accommodate that?

What types of security or safety measures are in place for your facility?

How flexible are your rates and child care services? (I don't need weekly care. I only need care on these days at these times.)

Do I need to feed my child before they attend preschool? Do I need to provide snacks/lunch?

Do you offer fun events or activities like music, art, dance, gymnastics or sports?

Of course, these are only a few of the many questions parents ask themselves or a potential day care facility taking care of their child.
