wait genuinely asking how is saying NB for nonbinary racist? Googling didn't give me anything but maybe i searched poorly

so its just the fact that nb previously stood for nonblack and that black people/poc were using that in their conversations and communities, but then white trans/nonbinary people yoinked it and made it mean nonbinary. black people have been asking us as a community (white lgbt people) to stop using nb to mean nonbinary for a looong time, like at least since like 2014-2016 but maybe even before. so any time i see someone who insists on using nb despite that i just assume theyre racist but its also not unlikely that this person just didnt know. but like i feel like this isnt uncommon knowledge

anyway if you want to shorten the term nonbinary, enby is an option, however i know a lot of people dont like enby due to it being a bit infantilizing, so enben also exists for that reason specifically. otherwise you can just use nonbinary it's nbd
