PRE PRODUCTION

Feb 2nd → Contributor applications open.

Feb 17th → Contributor applications close.

Feb 28th → Contributor assignments/placements finalised.

CREATION PERIOD

March 14th → March first half check-in / Check-in #1.

March 28th → March second half check-in / Check-in #2.

April 11th → April first half check-in / Check-in #3.

FAQ

What is a fan zine?

A zine is a fandom event wherein fans come together to create pieces which will be compiled into a cohesive book! Typically, this involves art, fan fiction, cosplays, and just about anything else creative.

Who can participate?

Any fans of Vampires SMP are more than welcome to participate! If you can do something creative, you can take part; alternatively, you're also welcome to take part as an editing and/or beta reader. Currently, there is no cut-off for the number of participants.

How do I join?

Currently, there are Pinc Hitter applications open!

What happens after I apply?

You will be contacted via an email with the link to a Discord server if you are accepted, which will be the main hub for communication and check-ins. This link will expire after seven days and will NOT be resent out, so make sure you keep an eye out for it!

Can I write/draw NSFW?

No. Any contributions must be SFW. This means nothing beyond mild gore/blood, and nothing sexual in nature.

Is there a theme?

There is no theme! The zine is for all things Vampires SMP.

Please also be aware that no generative AI is to be used in the creation of pieces for this event, nor may any of the pieces created for this event be used for generative AI purposes.

The zine's projected release is now late August.

All of our contributors have worked incredibly hard, and we cannot wait to share this with you all!

We are currently looking at pushing the zine's release back in light of recent events. We will reiterate this upon release, but a reminder that any depictions in the zine are of the characters, not the creators.

We are still yet to settle on a release date, but are looking at pushing it back by about a month. This is mostly to allow artists who were assigned Avid to create new pieces, or remove him from their pieces, if they wish to.

How long will pinch hitter apps be open for?

That depends on how many responses we get! If we're planning to shut them, we'll give at minimum a five day warning before they close.

EMAIL UPDATE

I am currently sifting through to double-confirm all emails were sent. I've found a few missed and might find more, so I will put out a post again to confirm when that's done.

There have been a couple of instances of me accidentally sending out a rejection email to people who were actually accepted under a different category. I apologise if this has happened to you and you have recieved a second email.

If you recieve a rejection and then later an acceptance, PLEASE disregard the rejection.

hiya!! just wondering—are rejection emails still gonna be a thing? and if so, are they rolling out at the same time as acceptances? after? wondering at what point after you announce emails going out i should give up and stop refreshing my inbox lol

We will be sending out rejection emails!

In the event we do somehow miss sending out an email to someone, however, we will be putting out a post when all emails are sent, too. That post will include our email at the bottom, so if you happen to see it and have recieved nothing, then you will be able to send us an email to check!

Alongside acceptance and rejection emails, we will also be informing anyone who is on our list of pinch hitters that they may be called upon and should keep an eye on their emails for the next few months.

Apologies, we are running a couple of days behind on sending out acceptions. Myself and the mods have been a little busy with our own lives and working out the last details, but we are about 95% of the way there, so you should be getting emails within a day or two.
