what I fucking love is how tvl was written in the 80s and lestat is constantly sayinf shit like “as the kids say 🤪 that’s so rad!!” or whatever, and to me, reader of the vampire lestat in this modern age, that does NOT register the way anne rice intended it.
like it is supposed to feel jarring and insane. it is supposed to feel like lestat has been violently submerged in modern young people trends and culture and is now repeating all the new words he learned like a beautiful fresh baby. but because the book is from 1985, all I think is oh interesting huh I didn’t know that slang term even originated in the 80s how vintage how retro how lestat wow he’s so embarrassing aw aw so cute.
but amc in all their incredible genius decided that honoring anne rice’s original vision of writing an extremely modern and weird book that fully embodied the era it was written in was more important then bringing back the 80s nostalgia thing that streaming services love and it’s incredible to me. now I get to listen to lestat say shit like “labubu FOMO cosplay reddit discord Gen Z more like gen SNOOZE 🤪🤪🤪 safe space pronouns donald trump labubu tiktok dance 🕺🏻” and suddenly I understand what it felt like to be a young anne rice reader in 1985. God…. I understand.
AMC's Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Lestat (2026), Season 3 Episode 2 | Jacob Anderson as Pretty Green Eyes Louis de Pointe du Lac & Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy
Clementine is twenty seven years old, born on November 12th 1998.
Though she lived with a relatively normal family, a mother, father and younger brother, she was never a regular child. Her unwillingness to socialize and make friends, interact with any human outside of the little that she did with those that she lived with was a great concern for her parents.
Clementine murdered her first man in 2016. Looking back on it in present day, she's surprised she hadn't gotten caught then. Blame it on the local police, not her!
She has a specific type for men she chooses to kill. Those with a family, an excelling career, a loving home, people to miss them — a high profile man. She can't get enough of the tingle that spreads through her body when she focuses on a new one.
She has an extensive collection of photographs of her victims across the time that she stalked them. She keeps them inside a box inside the ceiling of her apartment's bathroom, a loose tile is used as the opening for the hiding spot.
Now, in 2025, her focus is on The Vampire Lestat, the french rockstar with long blonde hair and an aura that appeals to Clementine. She also thinks his music sucks.
lestat and clementine's relationship is not romantic. sexual, at some point, maybe, but never romantic.
i haven't confirmed a sexuality for clementine, but she's definitely somewhere on the aromantic spectrum.
the faceclaim i used is the actress Ella Purnell! i've used her character Rhiannon from Sweetpea, but she's also known for Jackie in Yellowjackets.
share your thoughts on clementine please :) i would love to hear any kind of feedback!!
Newly-turned!OLD MAN Daniel Molloy loves having you in his lap. Nice to ask you questions, having you editorialize parts of his work, sinking his teeth into you when he needs a little “pick me up”.
There are too many times you’ve come into his office to find Daniel and Armand all over each other, blood smearing over their lips as they glance over at you. Armand’s gaze a bit hazy as his nails dig into Daniel’s shoulder, Daniel not even caring to hold back his delight as he asks if you want to join.
I trust Daniel Molloy (as an interviewer)! If he's repeatedly asking Lestat if he was a stutterer as a child, Daniel is onto something.
And everything else is a type of distraction that Lestat WANTS us to be distracted by.
In previous seasons, Danny Molloy talks about how Louis uses third person "him" or "one" when he's trying to distance himself from his actions. Danny is good at catching this stuff!
Lestat is a master of DISTRACTION. Look at the visual difference in the third season (a naked woman showering in the background of a shot, switching from documentary style to colour, time skips, so much modern slang it's almost hard to understand).
Danny repeatedly throughout the episode asks Lestat if he was a stutterer as a kid. (the repetition also kind of mimicking the act of stuttering). He's hammering him. Don't get distracted! Stay on point (both Danny and us, the viewer)!
And what happens at the end of the episode? Lestat stutters as he sees his mother; and it looks like we're going to start delving into his childhood. That's where the pain is. That's where the story is.
i personally actually really relate to daniel molloy because i too am constantly occupied by attempting a fair and in depth analysis of interview with the vampire while simultaneously operating under the unbelievably biased lens of my fatal degree of adoration for the vampire armand
i’m a firm believer of sieun being more openly affectionate and honest about his feelings now after almost losing suho completely which never fails to fluster post-coma suho who was only used to sieun either brushing him off or silently accepting HIS affection.
he jokes about sieun wasting his time in the hospital with him when he could be hanging out with his friends instead and sieun responds darkly about how he’d never be a waste and that he’ll always choose him over anyone else. suho will sometimes poke or pinch his face to tease him like he used to but instead of sieun just quietly resigning to his fate like before, he grabs his hand and just holds it in his without letting go. when suho puts his arm around sieun’s shoulders, sieun just leans his head on him with a content look in his face. any time suho needs help being put to bed or on his wheelchair, sieun’s already at his side. and yeah suho understands he’s lighter than he used to be but sieun is still one of the most unathletic ppl he knows so he’s still wondering how he’s able to carry him at all (the perks of going to a delinquent school and frequently getting into fights)
all the while, suho, completely red in the face and confused beyond belief is rendered speechless.
i need mcvadi but like cassie edges victoria for so long that vic actually starts sobbing so cassie makes it up to her by making her finish a million times and it's good the first few times but then vic starts crying again bc shes so overstimulated 😁😁😁
