Don't mean to be rude, but as a writer/artist myself, I find the whole concept of Patreon pretty disrespectful. There are hundreds of fan artists who write and draw for free, despite probably needing to earn money through doing it themselves. Also drawing a picture takes maybe a few hours, yet people can spend weeks and months, 100s of hours on writing fics that they have no opportunity/ability to charge for. Not to mention it's illegal to profit from using someone else's intellectual property.

You are entitled to what you think about Patreon but its a choice, you dont have to support the creator if you dont want to, on top of that some artists need this kind of thing to survive and if im not mistaken, any creator can make a Patreon as long as they are the ones creating there own content. I know you said that you werent trying to be rude but saying that “drawing a picture takes maybe a few hours” is really devaluing all the effort that artists put into their work. Im in no way saying that writers dont have a tough time, all creators do, but to say this kind of thing isnt right.
