i hate how so many cities are at risk of losing what makes them distinctly interesting because now with shopping malls and restaurants and movie theatres and whatnot it’s undeniable how one is forced to spend money to enjoy a day out, whether alone or with friends. this is why museums, libraries, public gardens, and public amphitheaters are so important and have to be prioritised by city planning departments. a city needs spaces for people to exist without paying entryway money first, for it to be a good city with the space for actual character to it. otherwise it’s inevitably an urban hellscape
