“Admittedly ‘s not somethin’ t’at ah thought ta do. Ah don’ t’ink ah would know how ta go abou’ findin’ t’at kind o’ shite out, ‘f ‘m bein’ honest.”
“Wow that’s an accent.”
“I hear kids today are using a thing called Google. You can even do it on your phone. I found a couple venues. Nothing I care about playing in them, but I’d take suggestions if anyone had them. I’m Vanz. Don’t think we’ve met yet, have we?”
Anyone tried checking out anything on the music scene?
We’re in London, there’s gotta be some concerts around here somewhere right?
@masonxdanvers
Am I the only one who’s occupied in finding the best food around here?
Maybe when we get somewhere with more interesting food, I’ll get more excited about it. England’s not exactly known for it’s exciting cuisine, man.

@rizashea:
“Riza,” she held her hand out, the other shoved into her back pocket as she looked up at him. “Vanz is a really interesting nickname. Is it spelled with an S or a Z? Because if it has Z in it, that’s fate, pretty boy. We gotta be friends, then.”
“It’s fate then,” he said, taking the tiny had offered to him by the very tiny girl. “It’s short fort Vance. Middle name. I always liked it more than my first name.”
@sethmacklin
It’s actually a great idea. You could learn a new drink at each city. I could be your test subject.
Once there’s alcohol involved, it doesn’t matter what language you speak. There’s a common language among drinkers. Like a secret code.
“Yeah that language tends to be slurring out orders and falling off their bar stools. Or asking me when I’m getting on the stage... at least where I work.”
@rizashea
“Well, Vanz, you’re going to remember my name.”
“Right? I’d be real sad if you forgot it. I mean, I have pink hair. I’m unforgettable.”
“Tell me your name and I promise I’ll never forget it.”
Vanz Cannon + Fashion
Vanz has a very specific aesthetic: street style on a freelancer’s budget. Given that his job is literally fashion design, it’s kind of important that he look the part. His clothes tend to be casual without being lazy. Most of his wardrobe has been pieced together from various New jersey thrift shops. He almost never buys himself anything new. He wears a lot of button downs, mostly denim because those tend to be the easiest to come by in thrift stores.
He rarely wears just a t-shirt and jeans. There’s always something extra. He has a massive collection of scarves, probably more scarves than any other article of clothing. He also wears a lot of hats and jewelry. He can, sometimes, go overboard on accessories. And, while it’s rare to catch him without his contacts, he does have a pair of black rimmed glasses that he absolutely hates wearing, but will probably break out at some point on this trip (he’s going to run out of contacts eventually).
He wears the hell out of skinny jeans. The tighter the better. And he will wear them until they’re in complete shreds. It’s not rare to find him rocking a pair of jeans with both knees completely ripped out down to his shins. That being said, he does have a few pairs of black jeans that he can wear with a blazer when the need to look professional arises.
Very few things he owns stay in the same state in which he bought them. He likes to buy things that can be repurposed or altered. He’s lucky enough to be pretty thin so clothes are rarely too small for him and he doesn’t mind wearing oversized clothes. If he buys something that absolutely swallows him, he can always tailor it.
His hair is about shoulder length and he almost always wears it pulled back and he has several tattoos that will probably get explained in another post.
@brook-harper
“Paying for things suck, but that’s life man. I’m Brook.”
“This isn’t life though! This is an all expenses paid vacation where the bill goes to a mysterious benefactor and I never have to see it!
I’m Vanz. I keep telling people we should all be wearing basic info name tags.”
@brook-harper
“Im pretty sure man. Mind if I go shopping with you?”
“ The more the merrier. As long as I’m not footing the bill.”
@rizashea
“How old are you? I haven’t hit the big two-one, yet and that’s all I’m saying.”
“So do touristy stuff with me! We can take pictures together and make locals hold our camera for us and walk hand in hand! I still didn’t catch your name, I don’t think, though?”
“Oh shit. I’m Vanz. And I just turned Twenty-Six.”
“I’m... kinda the worst at remembering to do the name swap thing. We should all wear name tags.”
@sethmacklin
Hey, my father deserves all the credit. But it is quite awesome. You’re the first to mention it to me.
As am I. It’s funny, all my close friends turn out to be bartenders. Must be a habit of mine.
“CFO dude said something about bartending for extra scratch if all expenses were not actually paid. Now I’m considering trying to bartend in every city we go to. I could probably pick up a shift for a night or something.”
“Unless they don’t speak English. Then I’d be kinda useless. So maybe that’s not a feasible goal.”
vanz: -does one sit up-
vanz: phew okay no more
riza: -pats his tummy-
riza: good enough
@rizashea
“Oh yes way.”
“I’m so sorry, New Jersey is terrible. My father used to go to Atlantic City to gamble on the off chance he got a vacation–which wasn’t often. Never heard great things. How are you liking London?”
“I was about an hour away from Atlantic City. I’ve only been there once, though. Twenty-first birthday thing, you know?”
“London’s great. I want to get out and do all the touristy things that everyone else is probably too cool to admit that they want to do. I mean, we’re here for two weeks, so why not?”
