Kieran sighed as he looked up at the cat in the tree, already regretting taking the call seeing as he absolutely hated cats for the mere reason that they hated him. “There’s a non-emergency number that you can call to reach the fire department for situations like this one,” he pointed out, looking around to see if anyone had a ladder in their yard. Spotting one, he ran over to retrieve it before returning back and leaning it up against the tree. “Do you know whose cat it is?”
Seth fiddled with the armrest of his wheelchair, sensing the man’s annoyance regarding his non-emergency call. He felt a bit uncomfortable with the realization of his faux-pas. “Sorry sir.” Seth replied, reverting to his military language. “I was not aware of the fact. I just recently moved here from Ireland, so I’m still relatively new.” Seth observed as the copper retrieved a ladder from a nearby yard and positioned it against the tree. Hearing the man’s inquiry, Seth responded, “Not sure. Probably a stray in the vicinity.”
