not all lycans, in my lore, have an infectious bite. Akhem doesn’t, Cosimo doesn’t. only Vincent.

reason in that being only few are born with a gland that contains a of virus of sorts. exactly like how a venomous snake has glands. which can be removed. these glands are located along the roof of the mouth and seeps in the gums. so when the wolf in questions bites down on anything, this triggers the glands to release this substance.

while on an lycanthrope they cannot be removed, they can be tampered with and the flow of this substance can be cut off. so when biting it no longer seeps. thus a bite is no longer infectious as there is nothing to mix into the blood stream of the victim.

Vincent while was changed by an bite, the reconstruction and changing of his DNA happened to develop this gland. he didn’t notice this for a long ass time tbh.
