Thoughts on Summerset's fashion evolution:
After the thalmor take over, I imagine clothing styles to have become less decadent and more austere (in comparison to the crazy shit some of them were wearing in the third era that is).
And since Summerset has cut itself off from the rest of Tamriel, and is therefore not doing trade anymore, foreign styles and fabric are no longer in fashion/available.
I had this idea for an altmer fashion designer whose biggest gripe with the new government is how their career has been effected.
A career that they've probably had and have been mastering for centuries. They've probably created outfits for royalty (that no longer exsist). They've probably created an outfit that they consider the closest they'll ever get to alaxon.
But now certain styles and silhouettes have become almost politicaly incorrect overnight. Certain fabrics, dyes and other materials are nowhere to be found, and would only be available on some kind of black market.
This altmer is either going to have to relearn how to do everything (centuries of habit and acrued knowledge), or they'd have to quit and find a new path in life.
I'd love to design some outfits showing how fashion in Summerset has changed through the eras, and how world events impacted it.
