Permanent Vacation
Port of Piraeus, 20 minutes away from Athens, is well known to tourists for the scenic route to the white and blue islands of the Aegean Sea. But during the last year the port which is one of the major sea-hubs in the Mediterranean -a strategic passage of great importance owned recently by the Chinese authorities- has been hosting a different type of travelers as it has been transformed into one of Europe's most crowded temporary camps with 5,000 people taking shelter.

LA MAMBA NEGRA: THE OPEN VEIN - A day off with pro-boxer Christina Linardatou Duran
It is hard to figure Christina's low key personality as "La mamba Negra" -her boxing nickname- the unbeatable professional boxer and entitled International champion (UBF) who is going to claim the WBC world lightweight title against the 4 times word champion Delfine Persoon from Belgium.

Port of Piraeus, Gates E1-E2-E3
Hundreds of people, children, women, men, elderly are arriving at the port of Piraeus on daily basis -awaiting in vain to leave for the borders as the northern neighboring Balkan countries have been closing their borders. Greek state has been relying on several NGO's, volunteers and solidarity networks to deal with the humanitarian aspect of the crisis.
At the gates E1, E2, E3 and inside the ship at gate E7 at the Port of Piraeus there are almost 2000 people awaiting.
Large quantities of medicine and clothes -masks, gloves, bepanthol creams, single use soaps, aerotsaber for children, shoes, blankets and sleeping bags- are needed the most. All the above necessary can be brought at the E1 Terminal.
