Everyone talks about being parasocial with creators in the "I love them so much they're like my best friend way" but no one talks about the equally damaging parasocialism that is the parasocial hater. The person that follows someone solely to take every minor grievance and put it on blast as though it's 10 times worse than it was. The person that digs through every post on every social media site to find anything that could be considered bigoted and then refuses to talk about the creator going forward without prefacing it with "I do not condone" and constantly mentioning their ___phobia or racism or misogyny. The person that makes a blog dedicated to keeping it in the public eye until the end of time, removed of all context. The people that claim over and over and over all the creator has to do is acknowledge and apologize but if they do, well, it wasn't good enough or they only did it because they got called out which is proof they're not genuine. And, if they leave social media, that's actually them avoiding responsibility and causing fans to harass the people who rightfully called them out. The people that have made it their moral duty to stalk, harass, and degrade their least favoruite minor internet celebrity and claim it's for social justice. And much of the time, the abuse from their campagin is worse than anything the creator did originally. The people who, if you question why they hate someone they don't know this much and put this much time and effort into hurting them, they say, you too must be a supporter of the bigotry or actions they committed.
I think these people should be treated as engaging in just as unhealthy a behaviour as the parasocial fans, and it's pretty shocking just how many people engage in this behaviour, even if just passively.
this is whats happening with hussie
Hot takes on prisons, solitary confinement and the death penalty:
I don't support the death penalty except in some extreme cases (such as being a serial killer or pedophile). I think that all prisons should be entirely reformed to focus on rehabilitation instead of punishment. I earnestly believe that even serial killers and pedophiles, the worst kind of people out there, could be rehabilitated over time if they genuinely want to be and are given the proper help they need.
That being said, there are supermax prisons out there which hold people in solitary confinement for life. This is basically torture. Having been admitted to a couple mental hospitals in America (which are very lacking in actual mental healthcare), I know what it's like to be confined to a small space with nothing to do but stare at a wall for several hours at a time. It's very stressful. Your thoughts begin to consume you with no outlet for them. And that was only a few hours. I couldn't imagine doing that for the rest of my life.
I think that, if someone refuses or simply cannot be rehabilitated and they impose so much danger to others that the only reasonable solution is a lifetime in solitary, then at that point, it's better to end their misery rather than give them a lifetime full of torture.
or pretend be their friends and kill them, contradictionary faggy
HOT TAKE:
Abuse is also a mental health concern. Abuse is often a cycle of behaviors that a person develops to cope with trauma, insecurities, anger, and/or mental illness. Often these behaviors may have been learned from caregivers during childhood who had the same or similar behaviors, learned as a defense mechanism at some point in life, or learned through toxic social norms.
Abusers are fully capable of change, but it takes a lot of time and effort to pull themselves out of the cycle of abusive behaviors. They have to really want to do it. They have to earnestly and consistently put in effort to unlearn these abusive behaviors. This process can be excruciatingly difficult. It demands a lot of insight and realizations that can be very uncomfortable to process. I think that this why so many abusers refuse to change. Also, relapses are possible, which is why an abuser may need to distance themselves from certain relationship dynamics in which they behaved abusively in the past until they're far enough along on their healing journey to no longer partake in the abuse.
Support for a recovering abuser can include holding them accountable for their behaviors, checking in to see how their recovery process is going, being a friend they can vent to now and then, and maintaining firm boundaries in order to maintain the relationship/friendship. If your safety is at risk, consider ending the relationship/friendship or at least putting distance between the two of you.
DISCLAIMER: I'm not a professional. Just someone with life experience who wants to share my perspective.
and if they are danger to others - kill them on forest

In fiction, I much prefer the term 'rehabilitation' arc as opposed to 'redemption' arc
I find redemption as a term to bring so much of 'well does this character deserve to be redemed/deserve forigveness/can make up for the wrongs they did'. Framing the concept that harm can be made up for, whether their actions can be forgiven. I've spoken before that i don't fully believe in the notion of redemption. not to mention the inherent religous aspect behind it all
Rehabilitation as a term, however, shifts the focus I bit. Its more of a question of, could this person be led to stop causing harm? Can they become someone who consistently makes better choices? What does living with the consequences of their past look like?
Whether other people forgive them or whether their past actions can be 'made up' for becomes a seperate issue. Someone can become a much better person while some of the people they hurt never want to see them again
hes in prison now. for doing what he did to me to other people too. the person who was my only friend in the real world in high school and after is in prison now. and i have to live with that forever.
heyy relax dawg atleast he got locked up for idk, prob rape. relax dawg you got groomed by them
it is FRUSTRATING how people get SO angry when you say "actually I dont think we should build systems around killing people of any kind". Like yall really just wanna be bloodsoaked and pretend you're righteous!!!! But setting aside how blatantly reactionary that is, lets go into WHY systems of murder like the Death Penalty are a BAD FUCKING IDEA:
Death is, quite obviously, irreversible. So what happens when you make a mistake? What happens when you kill a guy who you're *PRETTY CERTAIN* did a horrible thing, and then afterwards it turns out...he didn't. Posthumous exonerations happen, and are more common than you'd think. Maybe some people deliberately set him up for it, or maybe just pure coincidence led to this. Regardless, how do you make up for taking a life that didnt deserve it? Ethically, does this make you as deserving of death by your own system? There is no system you can build that is airtight enough to separate those who committed heinous acts from those who didnt with 100% accuracy, and even one false death is unacceptable. At least with other forms of punishment, you can stop when you figure out you're wrong.
If you create a class of people who it's okay to kill, there will be active efforts to push marginalized people into that class in order to kill them. This is inevitable in ANY system! Look at our world today, where theres a concerted effort to label trans women as groomers. Theres a reason Florida legalized the death penalty for sex offenders right after deciding that trans people are sex offenders. And not just trans people, theres a long history of this happening to black folks as well! Have you ever heard of Emmet Till? A black child was falsely accused of sexually harassing a white woman and got lynched, and his murderers were given a not guilty in court. And we still have cases going on today where the evidence is pretty clear the black man didnt do it, but the death penalty march continues to haunt them, like Pervis Payne. Can you honestly say you can imagine a system where bigots never have the ability to abuse it?
In an effort to minimize those posthumous exonerations, our current death penalty system has to go through massive amounts of rigor just to prove, REALLY prove (at least as much as you can, because you can never reach 100%), the person did what they are accused of. And it turns out: this is actually more costly than just keeping them in jail for life! So ask yourself, is it really WORTH it?
Punitive justice actually hurts victims in many cases. Now I know this sounds counterintuitive, so hear me out! The problem is that quite often, victims dont actually want their rapists to die because of what happened. I'm actually a CSA victim myself, okay? And in the process of figuring that out, I found out one of my rapists...was a CSA victim himself. And while that of course does not make it okay, and I do still believe he deserves some consequences for what he did, it does paint a picture of why he did what he did. He was just someone who had been handed a warped idea of what consent was, and proceeded to use that on me. I do not want him dead, I also do not think he should be on a sex offender registry for life, which is a life-ruining thing. But no matter what, if I seek legal consequences, these will occur. That means I feel as though I cannot come forward with my case in any legal capacity, because it would go against any consequences I actually want. And I'm hardly alone in this! Countless victims just dont want the punishment to be as severe as it is, and stay silent as a result.
Punitive justice ALSO creates a society where making mistakes is unforgivable, and that actually leads to more stress, which leads to more, and more serious, mistakes. We have evidence that youth incarceration actually leads to more crimes. Meanwhile, in contrast, rehabilitative justice has been proven to reduce crime significantly. This makes sense when you just think about it for a second, its the same logic as spanking children for doing something wrong: You think you are creating an incentive for them to not do it again, but in reality you are just proving that they cannot trust you. And when that happens on a societal level, when you feel like you cannot trust society, are you likely to stop committing crimes? Or are you going to be incentivized to do more, but be sneakier about it? But if you instead take that child and sit them down, and treat them like a person who made a mistake, talk to them...figure out why they did what they did, and what you can do to help them not do it again? Well that goes a whole lot further toward justice, doesnt it?
I could go on with a lot more reasons why the death penalty is wrong, even against folks like rapists and child abusers and the like who disgust me. Theres certainly a lot of resources out there for folks who'd like to learn more. But hopefully this has at least given you a few reasons why your "Kill all rapists and pedophiles" posting is actually really reactionary!
always reactionary with you ppl
I think typically I’m pretty pro-rehabilitative justice/pro-restorative justice but something that’s always really bugged me about arguments for alternative forms of justice is that they tend to focus really heavily on victims who DON’T want their abusers to face any harsh punishment. Sure, the dynamics between a victim and their abuser can be really complex, but I really hope people understand that putting the victims first also includes victims who are full of rage and want their abusers to die painfully. Like how does anyone plan on navigating that type of situation in a hypothetical scenario where rehabilitative justice is the norm? I literally never see this get talked about, at least not in the major circles that I’ve been involved in.
Side note, but this is also partially the reason why I’ve had such a hard time engaging with a lot of anti-punitive justice posts on here. I’ve experienced some awful shit, namely an incident that happened when I was 11 where a group of my classmates ganged up on me and attacked me because they thought I was ‘annoying’, like it seriously traumatized me and even though it’s been over a decade I STILL hate them for it. It still angers me that they were never punished (I went to a Christian school and they had a very ‘forgive and forget’ approach to conflict resolution) and there have been times I’ve thought about confronting them even though I know they probably don’t even remember it or feel any guilt at all. So when I first started engaging with the concept of restorative justice, I felt like such a horrible awful person for still carrying anger over something that happened when I was a kid while all these other people had been through hell and didn’t want the people who hurt them to face any punishment.
Idk where I’m going with all of this, I guess I’ve just felt isolated in the rage I’ve carried all this time. I should probably let go but it’s really difficult
they have aspd or some kind of cd. its okay to find them and kill them
people who don’t feel empathy or a need to do good without benefit to themselves make me immensely uncomfortable.
I’d rather be friends with someone who is a bitch and has the ability to feel guilt about it, rather than someone who is a bitch and doesn’t have the ability to feel guilty about it.
I genuinely couldn’t be friends with someone who doesn’t act good because it wouldn’t benefit them. hearing someone talk about not caring about their friends unless they can offer them something makes me paranoid and uncomfortable.
this is mainly about people with aspd and other cluster b PDs. I’m aware that not everyone with - cluster b PD is a bad person who uses others, and I don’t hate them on principle. even if they were a pretty good friend, I think knowing someone doesn’t feel empathy/sympathy on the same level as me would immediately make me feel unsafe and uncomfortable. I couldn’t trust someone who exhibits those traits unless they gave me a very, very good reason to trust them.
maybe I’m a bad person.
yeah because they are bad person. unless they got trafficked and instead of running from abuser they stays with them for transport and money and make fanarts of them daily. he will die from depression and unresolved trauma
what r u speaking about dude
speaking about some le heccin artist because i am good fucking person who totally doesnt have any skeleton in closet at all, ha, ha
