COMING THIS THURSDAY AT A TWITCH CHANNEL NEAR YOU

Last week I gave myself a challenge: Make an industry-sized film poster for the roleplaying show Critical Role before next episode goes on air. And so I did.

Quickly realizing the file would be huuuuge, I decided to draw each character and part by itself before merging layers and putting them into the final project file. That was both a blessing and a curse, since adjusting or fixing problems I would see later became a pain, since the finished figure would only be in one layers. A blessing, however, because they were real easy to move around, mess with the composition and I also got a bunch of art pieces I can use for future stickers or other trinkets (huehuehue).

Anyway, all in all, great experience, massive project, so happy it turned out well!

He grew up with six siblings, four of which were younger than him: of course Percival knows how to prank someone. That said though, pranking a bear isn’t exactly on his bucket list and he is thoroughly grateful that Vax at least manages to see how that would end badly.

“I would say that relying on that uncanny ability of yours to hide would be a better bet in that case, yes.” Percy smiled, pushed his glasses back on his nose and gave Vax a bit of a curious look. “So, am I to understand you want to cover Vex in colorful powder? …She is absolutely going to murder you. You, because I am going to be far away when that happens.”

Humming quietly to himself Percy glanced around his workshop, already - against his better judgement, isn’t that always the way - considering if he could make something.. perhaps with a spring contraption? “Alright, I can help you. If-” he added sternly, gaze flicking back to Vax, “you promise to leave Trinket out of it. I much prefer you when you’re not being chased around by a panicking animal, alright?”

If success was measured by small acts, Vax was the most successful man around. Convincing his entirely too focused companion into some lighthearted good nature fun with his sister, was perhaps the best success he had in recent days.

“My uncanny ability to hide is always a good bet.” The look was rewarded with a smile, and Vax clasped a hand over Percy’s shoulder. “You understand exactly what I am hoping to do! Nothing dangerous of course, just head to toe color make over. I’m thinking a nice bright blue or pink but I’ll be fine with anything bright you have on hand.”

Oh, Vax had already made his peace with the death his sister would inflict on him, but that would all be worth it. With a very large grin he pressed a kiss against Percy’s cheek. “I knew I could count on you! You have my word, no Trinket will be harmed or even bothered in this prank.”

And this would be exactly why most of Vax’ brilliant plans were risky to get involved in. Percy gave him a long stare before plucking his glasses off his nose, cleaning them slowly as he studied his friend with a mixture of amusement and.. playful worry.

“You could potentially make something- or, I suppose, have me make something with a hairwire trigger, though it will be tricky to set things off at such a long distance. If you want to do it remotely, magic would be your best bet, though unfortunately that’s not my area of expertise. And as for Trinket… Vax, you know I adore you but I value my neck too much to frighten a bear. And loud noises and explosions, might I remind you, do terrify animals.”

Well that looked promising. Considering that Percy hadn’t just kicked him out of the workshop, and since he also looked almost amused at the idea of doing this, which pretty much meant that this was golden.

“Magic is something I’ve never been great with and I rather not have certain people get involved with setting it off at a different time. I can always be nearby just hidden away somewhere to set it off.”

It had been worth a try, which he had to admit he understood what Percy was afraid of. “I wasn’t going to frighten the bear! Just change his color a bit, alright, what if we set it off around Vex instead.”
