Brows furrowing, she lifted her head some to make eye contact, smirking at his remark. “Oh really? You called them? Let me find out you a snitch.” Venus laughed, taking her drink into her hand and plucking out two straws from the holster placed between them. “You been okay? I been meaning to catch up with you.”
“Hey, it’s a night off! Gotta get it in when I can.” She laughed. “Kita is my boo, you not gone do her like that. Especially with all that on yo shoulders.” Crossing her ankles, she casted a sideways glance to the rest of room again. “It’s a lot of people here tonight. Make sure you on your networking.”
“Girl, I don’t know how you do it. My office stays stocked. If its not a client having a bad day, it’s an editor or a photographer.” Shaking her head, she paused to take another sip of her champagne, nodding in agreement at being so busy. “Right now, I’m lining the roster up for the new year. All of them have been doing well for themselves so its opening up new avenues for exposure.”
Ainsley points at Venus and starts to nod. “You’re doing good, honey. I don’t do that shit enough. Don’t get me wrong, I know how to just go missing, but working has always been somewhat of a comfort with me. Hell, I’d rather be busying, than sitting on my ass and doing nothing. Besides bills don’t pay themselves.” She smiles and chuckles, while reaching for her glass. “I can use a vacation or a little break though, so I need to put into some plans for that.” She smiles while continuing to listening to her. “Well, that’s great. Hopefully they can keep it up and it works out well for them, but for you too. Everybody can win.”
“Same. I can’t remember the last time I took a trip that didn’t have me chasing after someone else. I’m thinking of taking a few days in Toronto to visit Brina...maybe do a New Years trip to Jamaica.” Venus sighed, momentarily letting her mental exhaustion take over. “It’s all dependent on the stars though”
“Securin’ the bag is the movement, I will not stop promotin’ that shit.” His eyes looked out onto the event, he brought his glass up to his lips and drunk from it before speaking. “She’s good, still got a big head but she’s good.” He joked.
“Really? You think she has the biggest head in the relationship? ...Interesting.” Venus cut her eyes at him while taking another drink. “But I’m glad to hear that. Means you’re ready to work.”

Let me find out you a snitch.” Venus laughed, taking her drink into her hand and plucking out two straws from the holster placed between them. “You been okay? I been meaning to catch up with you.”
“Nah, ain’t no snitchin’ over here today. I only snitch on Sunday.” He laughed before taking a long drink from his glass as he eyed her. “I’ve been okay, how ‘bout yourself? Still busy as always?”
“I’m great, and yes, me running around means more bags to secure. Everybody wins.” Smiling while she took a sip of her drink, she set the glass back onto the bar once she was done. “No business tonight, though. We’ll touch base on that soon. How’s the wife?”
“Girl, I don’t know how you do it. My office stays stocked. Zakari eyes scanned the event as he made his way to the bar. His gaze locked onto the bartender behind the counter. “Lemme get straight vodka.” He said before taking a seat. “This shit looks nice.” He speaks lowly to himself, as he continues to allow his orbs to look around.
Engrossed with her phone, Venus took the stool next to Bakari, stiletto tipped nails tapping the hardwood to get the bartender’s attention. “I’ll take a Manhattan with Grand Marnier.” Flashing brilliant white teeth, she showed her phone, giving the room her attention again.
Ainsley walks up onto the boat, carefully boarding it while holding onto the railing along the entrance. Once her is straight again, she switches her clutch to her left hand and walks further on.
“Please, you know you’re a doll.” Venus chuckled, iPhone in hand as she took a quick snap of the deck. “Oh I’m ready. New Waves never disappoints. How have you been though?”

Taking the glass of champagne into nimble fingers, Venus murmured a thank you, raising it to her lips in a grateful sip. Starting her survey of the room, she noticed Ainsley, giving her a warm smile. “Hey pretty!”
