At the age of 15
After a gang raid claimed his father and took his mother hostage, Valko had to spend his days roaming around the Badlands with his clan.
He later escaped the Badlands at 17, seeking the luxury of the city and to join Militech.

He rose through the ranks to become a master sniper and netrunner, but his greatest achievement from the army was his first love, Marcus, a fellow soldier. They wore matching dog tags with a simple plea: "Return me to him." When Marcus was killed in action, Valko’s world shattered. He spiraled into a deep depression, eventually quitting the military at 25. It was only through the support of his best friend, Ryan (a Valentino gang leader ), that he found the strength to rebuild.

Ryan was born on the street,just a new born baby left by the dumpster, so he ended up in an orphanage. When he was 17, he left and joined the Valentino gang, where he got to know Alec later on and he loves teasing Alec as he is a younger member of the gang.
Ryan met Valko when Valko's just quit the military, and was in a depression due to the loss of his BF. Ryan got Valko through it and they are both best friend for over a decade now.
Ryan is pure as heart but he also has an anger issue and violence, despite all this everyone knows he has a soft spot for Valko. He confessed feeling to Valko but the only reply he got was a rejection as Valko doesn't fall in love with his best friend the same way Ryan does.
