Howdy, you can call me Ghost (she/her) and welcome to my digital haunting grounds!

This blog’s been a lot of things over the years, but, as of right now, it’s primarily my repository for whatever catches my fancy. I refuse to make a sideblog, so if you’re not up for my mishmash of shenanigans, know that I’m not keeping you here. I’ve gotten pickier about who I’m following these days and don't always do follow for follow. Nothing personal, I just already have a hard enough time keeping up with people on my dash, but I know my regulars. I see you!

You don’t have to be a mutual or a follower to interact with me. I’m down for tag games and my inbox and messages are always open. (You can’t ask anonymously because I do require a return to sender address. If you want to chat in private DMs are available to everyone.) Almost all of my posts and reblogs are scheduled or queued. I may or may not be online but if you leave a message after the beep, I’ll get back to you eventually.

I like to keep it organized around here and prefer to tag my posts (weird notes included) for archival purposes. I batch queue stuff, so expect a delayed reaction on reblogs. If something’s not tagged it was probably an accident. I’m not great with buttons.

Nothing Comes Before Night City (You'd never know just by glancing at this blog, but my second most obsessed about character is Mr. Blue Eyes.)

Part I - So It Goes - The completed first part of my CP2077 V/River Ward long fic. If you like epic length duologies, gritty slow burn neo-noir, vivid writing that waffles between prosaic and poetic, kickass action sequences, convoluted corporate conspiracies, copious amounts of angst, mind-numbingly large portions of smut, poetry references, and dumb jokes with punchlines pages down the road… Boy, have I got a referral for you. Part II - Night Running - WIP second part of the V/River Ward long fic. Will also probably be epic length. My take on Phantom Liberty and very much in the same vein as Part I, but throw in shady dealings, corporate espionage, more mystery, political machinations, spy antics, blasts from the past, and the always punk question: how do we break free of capitalism? Les Préludes - Tangent short stories from the Nothing Comes Before Night City series universe. Stories will mostly be V or River centric, but expect a couple of surprise appearances.

Little House of Horrors - Unrelated one-shot horror stories set in the world of CP2077. Most of these feature original characters and plots but take their inspiration from the game world.

Fluff - The Garden - Shimmer & Shine - For something completely different.

Other Helpful Things

Cyberpunk 2077 Console/Vanilla Photomode Tutorials - A little outdated as these were made before the 2.2 updates to photo mode, which has made lighting and posing so much easier. But there's still some solid advice in there.

WIP Wednesday

Because fuck it, why not?

The hodge-podge caravan of vehicles left Red Peaks behind, trails of dust billowing in their wake until the wheels made contact with cracked asphalt. The crunch of gravel traded in for the thrum of  pavement. V kept her window rolled down and let the wind toss her hair, the dry winter air blessedly cool. Unlike last year. River followed behind Lora's Galena, several cars following behind him. They rolled through the first intersection, turned left, then passed through the carved gateway of rock that separated Night City from the Badlands. They ran perpendicular with the railroad tracks until the rails veered off toward an unknown destination and disappeared. They drove past derelict CHOOH2 stations and abandoned buildings. Past the cactus, and the rocks, and the spines of trees. V caught a brief glimpse of the Sunset Motel through Randy's window, the building blurring with landscape like all the bad nights she'd spent there. Randy's forehead was pressed up against the glass, eyes glassy as he watched the scenery and absently pet Daisy around the collar. The dog's head rested in his lap, her pants punctuating the soft backdrop of the radio. The melody and the lyrics muted and indistinguishable. In the passenger seat, Bear crooked forward in slumber, the tiredness of age nodding his chin down to his chest. V caught the wrinkle's around River's eyes in the rear-view mirror, the creases on his brows smoothed out with his attention focused on the road ahead.  She watched the horizon through the front windshield. Watched how it never faltered or ever shifted. Even with the atmospheric haze. Even when everything else changed around it. It reminded her of her last trip to destinations unknown in the middle of desert nowhere. A van ride and a stolen SUV on the Mexican/SoCal border. Where she'd met Jackie. V wondered what he'd say if he saw her now. On a family road trip holding a box of eggs in her lap.

The nonprofit American Prairie recently celebrated the new year with a report that it had successfully removed the 100th mile of derelict barbed wire fencing on its land holdings. All rolled up, the thorny barrier amounted to 500,000 pounds of scrap metal, and with its removal, the prairie’s megafauna are free to move about as their hearts desire.
