Storm || Veda & Elsa

Veda was not particularly thrilled to be going to this event with Elsa. They knew that they were just going to be in for misgendering and uncomfortable situations. But the promise of a significant amount of money was too good to pass up, especially when they lost one of their regular customers to someone who was giving services for free. Ugh.

But of course they couldn't just go out and have a decent time. A dust storm had to pull through and they could do nothing but wait in their car while it blew over...with her in the passenger seat. They groaned, staring out the window despite not being able to see more than a foot in front of it. No way they could drive through this now.

"Don’t worry, I’ll get that farmhand to do it. May or something like that," Tyson joked, knowing that he could probably get Maya to bail him out just because. She was too overly nice to him and his family, probably just because they got her a job on the farm. "Besides, they haven’t even been letting me in. We might not even get our asses inside."

"Then we'll stop by a liquor store and have out own party," Veda replied, trying to make the best out of Tyson's exile from the local bar. "You won't be cut off by a stingy bartender and there's not assholes around to bug you." It was a suggestion, but a valid one. At least if they got drunk at home, there wasn't as much of a risk of getting arrested...or violent.

"Fine, fine." Tyson just allowed Veda to pull him out of the station. While he might not of enjoyed a man grabbing his arm like his best friend did, he allowed it for them. The closeness was only acceptable with them. "It’s fuckin’ great, man," he told them, knowing very well the feeling from personal experience. "Are you gonna hit the bar in celebration?"

"As long as I don't need to bail you out," Veda replied, still holding onto their friend's arm. They could really go for a drink at that moment. They could even get plastered. The only thing Veda worried about was Tyson. He tended to go a bit overboard at times.

Tyson didn’t lose his balance once Veda collided into him, just wrapping his arms around them. If there was one thing that he knew he was good for, it was giving those necessary hugs. And, well, providing bail money. Thank god for the small family fortune that was brought on by having one of the last successful farms in Cimarron. It kept both Veda and him out of jail a good majority of the time.

"If they even think about changing their minds, they have a lawsuit on their hands," Tyson to them. "And I’d kick someone’s ass for it."

"My hero," Veda replied, pulling back to glare at the police officers before nudging Tyson so they can leave. "But you don't wanna kick their asses right now anyway. Not worth it." They grabbed Tyson's arm and strut out of the police station, smiling widely as they made it outside to taste the evening air. "There's nothing like the sweet feeling of freedom, is there?"

"Works for me," Tyson replied, knowing that even just a little help — not necessarily the best help — was better than nothing.

The visit to the jail was uncomfortable, as the farmer had visited it too many times himself. The cops there were probably confused by him coming into it without cuffs, and Tyson enjoyed the idea of not being the one in trouble for once. Was he going to change things? No, probably not.

After paying the needed money, Tyson looked to the released Veda with a smirk. ”No need to make any toothbrush shanks or fear the showers, buddy,” he said, holding his arms out in a hug for them. “I am your fuckin’ superman.”

Veda felt like Tyson was never going to show up. They didn't know how much longer they could stand to be in jail, and Tyson came just on time, right before Veda was just about to go crazy and do something drastic. The police guided them out of the holding cell, and they sheepishly stared back at Tyson, looking absolutely pathetic.

When the officer let them go officially, they bolted for Tyson and wrapped his arms around him once they collided, trying to bury themself into the mass of muscle that was their best friend. "Okay, Superman, fly me out of here before they change their minds," he muffled into Tyson's shoulder.
