Upper left is the burger I ordered from Quiet Pint. Their beef is grass fed, which is a plus! The microwave cart on the top right and the other cart on bottom are actually pieces that I put together earlier in the week before my parents came down.
Family Weekend
Hello again. I’m currently writing part of this entry on the side of highway 268 in Elkin, NC because I’m on my lunch break. I was going to try and write this on Sunday, but I didn’t have any time. It was a fairly busy weekend, but I was able to get a lot done.
My parents came West for the weekend to see me and help with my new apartment. This is actually the second time in a little over a month they’ve came all the way to Winston-Salem to see me. It’s not too often they get to do this so we tried to get as much stuff done as we could and spend some time together. We had a great time! They got here Friday evening around 6. I didn’t get off until about 8 and then met up with them for dinner at tripps. I’ve never been there before during my 2.5 year stint in Winston, but it was pretty good. I had one of their burgers and it was delicious. I also shared some fried calamari with my mom that was also good.
Saturday we spent most of the day cleaning up my apartment and putting furniture together. My mom pretty much organized my whole kitchen while my Dad and I handled the furniture. We put together an entertainment center and a night stand. It doesn’t sound like much, but it does take quiet a while to put together those tables (that and I like to take my time 😊)! I still have one more night stand to put together but other than that, the furniture is assembled and in its proper place (for now). Later that evening, we went and saw comedian, Chris Porter, at the laughing gas comedy club in Winston. This was also a first for me, but a great time nonetheless. Chris was awesome! If you haven’t seen any of his stand up, you can check him out on Netflix. I will post a YouTube link at the bottom of this post if you’re interested in seeing more. We wrapped up the night at a little bar called quiet pint; another place I highly recommend! They have great burgers, flatbreads and drinks! The next morning my parents and I went to church and ate at Cagney’s kitchen before they departed for home. Always a great time when the family comes to visit. I will be making a trip back to Currituck at the end of May to visit a lot more family for my grandparents surprise, birthday celebration. It should be a lot of fun, and I’m looking forward to it! Maybe that’s what my next blog entry will be about…I don’t know, we’ll see! Regardless, I hope you enjoyed this entry. Below are some links to Chris Porter’s stand up available on Netflix as well. I will also be posting another entry of a few pictures from the weekend. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me on Facebook, Twitter, here, or you can also shoot me an email if you’d like at [email protected]. Until next time, hope everyone has a great week! Take care! Chris Porter’s Stand Up: http://youtu.be/JuBGPylPVIU http://youtu.be/ZPBIDuZpGzI http://youtu.be/vARf6cI8PAE
Easter Sunday 2015
Another Easter here in the books, folks! What can I say... this is a great time to celebrate with loved ones whether you’re a Christian, and/or whether you’re just obsessed with bunnies and eating chocolate like me! I decided to write my first blog entry today. I’m not sure what, or who, or where, or how often I am going to write. One thing I can say though, is that I wanted to share with my friends and family (and/or whoever else decided to read this) things that I have seen, done, heard, watched, played, listened to, etc. It is one of my many goals to try and create meaningful sustenance in my life as well as in others. That, and wouldn’t it be cool if I could start a really awesome band and make millions of dollars?! Ehhh, that’s beside the point. Anyhow, without further ado, here is a clip from a documentary I watched today that I thought was interesting called, “Food Chains.”

If you’re interested in watching the whole film, it’s on Netflix. If you don’t have Netflix, you might be able to find the whole movie on youtube.
Thanks for reading and until next time…
