First things first - I’ve been very open with the fact that I invested in Oculus at an early round. I stand to make a very sizable chunk of money from this acquisition. I stood in Mark Rein’s office with Brendan from Oculus, held the kitbashed first version to my face, and said “This is going to...
Well said, all of it. Especially the p.s. No one will acknowledge that, but it needs to be said. Reddit hates your opinion for very obvious reasons, but that's what the internet does--works itself into a frenzy and spouts bullshit as if it was fact.
I hope this makes VR a better and more affordable/accessible experience for all.
ROLL CALL. Something I drew for myself as a guide in the different size/builds of our dudes, jumping back into normal bat-verse.
I’ve already ignored all my own notes completely though
I’m kind of surprised Tim is that short. I always saw him as having a leaner frame than Jason and Dick, but still being pretty close to their height. Although I can’t remember how old Tim is in the new canon, so I guess if it’s still mid-teens he could be due for a growth spurt.
Mostly I’m just happy you included Damian and still called it the “normal bat-verse.” Because that is promising.
according to most books today, i think TIm’s the size of Grayson and Batman’s the size of Bane. It’s probably all the hormones they’re injecting in our comics these days.
I usually see pre-boot Tim at just under Bruce's chin, using Marcus To as a reference.
Of course, Tim's boots might add a few inches.
It wasn’t easy. There were a lot of great entries and I was torn as to which bit of writing deserved the highly sought after $50 prize. I finally went with typesetjez’s untitled contribution. Not only did the author pen an engaging, highly readable piece of fiction, but also managed to weave in…
So that was a thing that happened today.
Dear Jez. Why you so good at writing? -Mike

Oh shit, now I’ve gotta make one of these
BROMYGOD
Still my favorite scene. Ever. Of all time.
Tim’s pretty awesome.
You know it, bro. :D
What do you mean by "it's okay if you have to be called Red Robin *now*?" (Hasn't Tim been called Red Robin for a while in the New 52? Or am I mixing up my continuities? If so I'm sorry! :( )
nope, you are totally correct i think, it’s been a while. My Batman timeline is just 90’s driven that’s all, so Tim’s always THE robin for me. Even when we pitched lil gotham, it was pitched with Tim Drake as Robin. but we switched him for Damian last minute, and i really felt that made the series even more fun in the end.
Pfft, Dustin. There’s only one true Robin and his name is Dick Grayson.
but then who will be Nightwing? the world will always need a Nightwing, and it has to be Dick Grayson.
Dustin, have I ever mentioned that I love you? Because I do.
Tim Robin is best Robin (for very similar reasons. Tim was the Robin I got into and he was easier to associate with than Jason, Dick, or Damian. And he's basically miniBatman. So that's good). I've always been a little cross at how they've messed with him in the new!52, but glad to know you care about his character, too.
I would just like to remind everyone that once Ra’s al Ghul said

THIS GUY
the epitome of what a curse is, I’m sure
Uh guys. Let's be honest here. He was really talking about this:
I don’t know the context, but…it wouldn’t be subcutaneous if it was ingested…
How do you expect to localize a micro-tracker from the gut to beneath the skin?
okay so i literally know nothing about this kinda stuff, but i’m guessing subcutaneous describes the tracker, meaning, it is meant to be injected. okay, so we’ve got this subcutaneous micro-tracker. if it’s sitting on the table, it’s still a subcutaneous micro-tracker. if it’s in your hand, it’s still a subcutaneous micro-tracker. if it’s in a cup of water, it’s still a subcutaneous micro-tracker. subcutaneous describes the type of tracker in regards to it’s intended use, not where the tracker currently resides, y’know? ahhhh like i said, not an expert, just the OP weighing in
Haha I know a bit about this stuff, but I'll try to keep things pretty simple. Subcutaneous refers to the layer of your skin beneath that outside layer, pretty much. It's vascularized (blood supply!) and a little bit fatty.
Subcutaneous is definitely supposed to refer to the location the tracker will reside in this context, not the actual microtracker. It's not subcutaneous if it's on the table, you know? It's like the microchips you put in your pets, right? You stick it in that layer because it's going to be healed over well, it won't move much, and it won't bother them.
If it's in the water, it seems like it's meant to be concealed. The water was used as a decoy to get the microtracker into the body without them knowing. Drinking a glass of water makes much more sense than stabbing someone with a needle and expecting them not to notice. (It's how Bats roll).
That's pretty much why I commented to begin with. Assuming the stealthy/tricky context, the "subcutaneous microtracker" gets into the gut and gets reabsorbed in the GI. It gets into the bloodstream and disperses throughout their body. It's not going to localize to the subcutaneous layer only--it's just going to be washed throughout the system in the blood.
But OK, let's say it was meant to be injected. Then subcutaneous is referring to the site of injection only. It's a little weird that it's in plain ole water in this context to begin with. Why not just chip them straight up? But anyways, if you're giving a subcutaneous injection of something, it's going to stick around in the subcutaneous layer for a little bit, but then spread out into the rest of your system. Minutes to hours timescale for that.
So basically, I'd argue that the term was wrong. It was meant to allude to the pet-chip idea and sound all scientific and nifty, but it wasn't accurate, you know?
For my next bit of fun: if it was able to be concealed in a glass of water, it would probably be a nano-scale (or even pico-scale!) device to begin with...so it would be a nanotracker, more than a microtracker. Again allusions and sciency, but not accurate!
I don't know the context, but...it wouldn't be subcutaneous if it was ingested...
How do you expect to localize a micro-tracker from the gut to beneath the skin?
my hoodies - tim drake (red robin)
kairi was the one to decide how tim’s hoodie gonna look like. she didn’t want the logo split but she wanted to have zipper included. then she came up with this design. it does take a bit more time to make than our other sweaters but i have to say i’m really pleased how it turned out ♥ it’s now up at our etsy until march 16th! the photos quality isn’t the best but we’re both so sick ugh ;u;
How amazing is this
Does anyone want to donate to the MIKENEEDSTHIS fund?
It's always implied. Always.
