Colours: black, blue, grey, purple. Incense: black poppy seeds, myrrh.
Lunar Phase:
It is also EXTREMLY important that magick spells and rituals be performed during the correct lunar phase. A ârule of thumbâ to remember regarding moon phases is if your working is tailored towards receiving or gaining something, perform your spell during a waxing or full moon - if you wish to rid yourself of something, perform your spell during the waning moon - for new beginnings, the new moon phase is best. * NEW MOON (begins on the day of the new moon to three-and-a-half days after). Use the energy of the new moon for new ventures and new beginnings. Also use the new moon for love spells, job hunting, and healing. *A WAXING MOON (seven to fourteen days after the new moon) is the proper time to perform positive magick such as love spells, magick for wealth and success, courage, friendship, luck or good health. *A FULL MOON increases extrasensory perception and is the proper time to perform lunar Goddess invocations, fertility rituals and spells that increase psychic abilities and prophetic dreams. Any spellwork that requires extra energy, such as finding a new job or healing serious conditions, is best begun during the full moon. *A WANING MOON (three-and-a-half to ten-and-a-half days after the full moon) is the proper time to perform destructive magick, negative incantations, and spells that remove curses, hexes, and jinxes, end bad relationships, reverse love spells, banish negativity, break bad habits, cure addictions and decrease fevers, pains and sickness. source: (x)
I like this post because I always wondered about exactly how long each phase goes for

Iâve chosen not to use any image or Halloween decorations that have a black cat in them, no matter how cute it is. Unfortunately, some sick people use this time as an excuse to torture and abuse these cats. Itâs just a personal choice but I would ask other animal lovers to consider it, especially if you have children.

When Your Spell Fails
no witch succeeds with their spells 100% of the time. hereâs a short list of reasons why it could have happened and some solutions
possible reasons why:
distraction - a spell youâre not invested in isnât going to have much power behind it. if youâre concentrated more on you. if you cast a motivation spell while planning out your vacation, itâs going to subtract from that motivation.Â
rosemary replaces everything - supposedly. it supplies general power, but if you add nothing into the spell that has any real meaning to you, then what is that power supposed to do? where does that energy go with no direction?
associations - the correspondences everyone else lists for herbs and stones and planets can be very useful, but sometimes you have a personal conflicting association. perhaps lavender is gross to you, and not peaceful at all. then that dream sachet isnât going to give you peaceful dreams.Â
didnât help the spell - magic does not exist in a vaccum. spells can only do so much, but if you donât make the effort, it much less likely to work. job spells dont work if you donât fill out applications, love spells donât work if you donât go out and talk to people, and so on.Â
too many cooks - if you cast 10 love spells, and yet no one is attracted to you, itâs entirely possible they all did work but they all conflicted with each other, and ended up canceling each other out.Â
shot for the stars- sometimes you try to achieve something, and you set your expectations too high. either itâs impossible, youâre trying from the wrong angle, or you didnât get as much as you wanted.
cancellation - sometimes a spell may appear not to work when it does, but the results are invisible because it canceled something else out. say you cast a money spell and get no extra cash after several weeks, it could be just helping you maintain your current income and blocking extraneous expenses.
impatience - unless you programmed a working time limit into it, the spell could be working and you just donât see the results yet. these things can take time.
out of your depth - if you donât feel like youâre ready to do a spell, your lack of confidence or discomfort can either disable the spell or not give it enough power to work
what to do:
take a break, ground, cleanse, and give it time. refocus your intentions
contemplate each ingredient and step in the spell, and modify
use the ingredients that you know best work for you, old standards hold up.
think about what you could do to help the spell work. what mundane methods havenât you tried?
take a step back and look at it realistically. is there another angle you can approach this from, can you break it down into smaller steps?
return to the spells you are comfortable doing, and work from there.
Great info
Everyday Witchcraft
1. Meditate - still the mind, the breath, the heartbeat, open a channel through which the spirits can communicate if they wish to, listen.
2. Walk - honour the genii loci, notice the changing seasons, observe signs and omens, traverse the kingdoms of humanity, flora and fauna, give aid where it is needed.
3. Divine - build relationships with divinatory tools, sharpen skills, train intuition, ask questions, receive answers.
4. Invoke - the presence of spirits to assist in tasks, to protect on journeys, to grant guidance, maintain connections and uphold contracts.
5. Craft - use the hands to create, to construct, imbue each creation with spirit and purpose, a meal, a potion, a carving, a weaving, enchant the mundane and material.
6. Sing - the old songs, the power songs, the prayers, the chants, to heal, to awaken, to enforce, to ward, sing the sun to sleep and the moon to rising, sing in the bath, at the hearth, in the heart.
7. Read - widely and deeply, old and new, academic and popular, across boundaries and taboos, slowly and with full attention, take notes, research, reflect.
8. Write - record experiences, practices, thoughts. keep journals and grimoires, spellbooks and scripts, remember, elucidate, illuminate.
9. Draw - sigils and runes, symbols and signs. Carve, paint, scratch, blacken, redden, scrawl, in the sand, with salt, in the air, with chalk, ink, blood, charcoal, the mind.
10. Collect - herbs, woods, stones, feathers, bones, teeth, soil, the raw materials of natural magic, fill jars, boxes, bags, gather, forage, wildcraft, thrift, take that which is discarded, value the found over the bought.
11. Observe - the cycles of moon, sun, planets, stars, take heed with the eyes as well as the almanac, feel the sap rise, the birds migrate, the bulbs awaken, the leaves wither.
12. Renew - old spells, old wards, protections, and boundaries. Clean what is obscured, recast what has weakened, maintain what is working, replace what is lost. Tie up loose ends.
13. Communicate - with everything, stones, trees, spirits, the dead, that which grows in the garden and that which visits it, other practitioners, mentors, students, seekers, the younger self, the higher self, the wyrd.Â
Wonderful
I love how this explains a lifestyle that some people try to make us feel guilty about living. I wish more people were more understanding so I didnât feel like I was lying to friends and family. Although I know I donât have to explain to anyone other than my husband what plans I may have for an evening, when asked by someone what Iâm doing tonight, I feel guilty when I have to lie. I donât like feeling that way. Maybe I should have pamphlets made with this conversation on them to hand out to people! Just a thought! đ
I love this. Explains things in a perfect way. Donât you agree fireman6a4 ?

Nietzsche/Plato
original piece (homework): articulatemaster - Philosophy ⊠Love my philosophy class!
Aside from Nietzscheâs physiognomic assertion that Socrates was the product of inbreeding, âThe Problem of Socratesâ was an accurate analysis of a dialectician whose sip of hemlock was the beginning of the end of philosophers who ascribed to Socratesâ âon their sleevesâ (pg 14, 5) âpresentations of oneâs reasonsâ (pg 14, 5)
Socratesâ fatal sip in the company of his friends did more than mark the end of his life, according to Nietzsche. Â Those final moments exemplified what Nietzsche proclaimed as Socratesâ self-fulfilling prophecy whereby he had wished his own death, not at the hands of Athens, but by his dialectic discussions that did more to infuriate and alienate than prove any values that he had based his life upon.
As Nietzsche surmised, Socratesâ âjudgments about lifeâ (13, 2) that are based solely upon symptoms prove beyond doubt that ââŠthe value of life cannot be assessed.â (13, 2) Referencing âThe Apologyâ, the symptom is a lack of knowledge; Plato did well to prove this in his unrelenting pursuit for the truth.  Additionally, the persecution, or judgment to assess the value of life, is evidenced by those he tore down, ââŠtried to show him that he thought himself wise, but he was not.â (21, d) and thereby judging others not as wise as he.
Nietzsche made a compelling argument that Plato made a âtyrant out of reasonâ (16, 10), that the recipients of Platoâs search for the truth were not exercising âfree choiceâ (16, 10), but responding to the dialectic reasoning as a last ditch effort âeither to be destroyed, or â to be absurdly rational.â Â This was most evident in âThe Apologyâ when Socrates was cross examining Meletus. Â Finally, Meletus was clearly choosing to not âbe absurdly rationalâ, nor destroyed, and it was Socrates who grew belligerent demanding the court âMake him answer, and not again and again create a disturbance.â (27,c)

đ„ place taglock in the middle of the circle, or around the bundle.Â
