It’s been a long time since I posted much here. I’ve been busy working on a PhD. I’m studying sexuality and relationships in the Social Psychology program at the University of California, Santa Cruz. And now I’m collecting data for my dissertation project!

This project is about relationships and identity. The survey is open to people in all kinds of relationships, but I’m particularly interested in hearing from people with nonmonogamous experiences.

Participation for this study is limited to people at least 18 years old and living in the United States. I hope those who are eligible will consider taking part!

At first I was like “I don’t want to spend my evening making this chart!” but then I thought to myself “if YOU don’t make the lube pun, who will? WHO wILL?”

anyway.

I’m tired, and this is super simple. I only included the four most common types of toys. I said Plastic and by plastic I mostly mean HARD PLASTIC. Please don’t use jelly-soft toys or the like, they are TOXIC. 

As you can see, Steel and Water take the cake. Nevertheless, feel free to throw in your experience.

The reason I made varying degrees of acceptability and the reaason that Oil lubricant looks so suspicious is because Oil lube will NOT wash out of your body naturally. And as such, it can cause infections, etc. However, it isn’t bad IN ITSELF it’s just really more susceptible to making the environment of your genitals dangerous. Use caution. 

This is meant to be a simple quick-glance guide, not an in-depth explanation of WHY these things don’t work or do. If you need info, google is just a click away, don’t forget! :)
