A long game development story

Hi! I'm a level designer in a indie game development studio called RulesLite Studios that is currently in the process of making a psychological thriller game.

The Texture Hunt

   First of, let me introduce myself the way English courses taught me. My name is Vedran Sabljak and I am from Zagreb, Croatia. A country most of you haven't heard of...and it's kind of for the best. The least you know, the better. 

   So what do I do? I am a level designer in an indie game development studio called RulesLite Studios. And today...we went texture hunting!

   We armed ourselves with cameras...well most of us...everybody but me...and went to the center of our capital city and started taking pictures. Let's just say, we looked like weird, blind tourist without a guide that were taking pictures of random crap...a part of the plain white wall of a big beautiful national monument. 

   Shot by shot,we moved through the back alleys of Zagreb taking pictures of old doors, bricked walls and paved floors. And somehow, we ended up at the Serbian Embassy and were confronted by the 'guard?' and had to explain to him what we were doing ( not the easiest thing ) . Things were going smooth till the moment our artist came out of their building ( the one he was guarding ) with a camera in her hands and smile on her face. To shorten the story...we had to delete our new pictures. 

   Four hundred pictures later, we came to an end to our todays journey. We explored the deserted back alleys of our town, went into an abandoned basement and many more old unique buildings. It was an amazing experience which resulted in great material for our game.

   Soon, we will head to a 'so called' haunted house here in Zagreb for another texture hunt and also to get a better feeling for the atmosphere in our game.
