i. konan continued the use of the hop-in planks long after her sensei left. it’s a comfort for her, && gives her a sense of security. she’d like to make everyone in the akatsuki follow the practice, but she knows it most likely wouldn’t resinate with them. instead, when they leave the hideout or when they return, she switches their planks for them. it usually goes unnoticed by the others.
