I always thought... as a nurse... I would find it an easy decision to 'pull the plug' on a loved one in a brain dead coma. But recently... I believe that to be the hardest thing in the world. To make a decision.. to end something... knowing full well all avenues have been covered twice over... is heartbreaking. I feel for the wives... husbands... mums and dads... children. Because I truly believe they will blame themselves forever, they will know it was the right thing to do... but it will haunt them. And a little piece of them will die with it all. The heartbreak must be excruciating. They are the bravest people. I cannot even comprehend how they do it anymore.
