Making Progress

Murdoch could feel the blackened energy rolling off of her in waves the entire time they were speaking with the Council. He would have expected her to interject at any given point, to say just how vile and murderous these cretins were, but she remained eerily calm, though her form betrayed her. He’d seen her lash out over the years in full Erinyes form. It was not something he enjoyed seeing, and that large, overwhelming part of him that was Light recoiled at the memory, at the sight, and nearly at her touch.
He wanted to mention how suspicious he found it, how readily the Council agreed to their assessment of the situation and the need for a cleansing, but he knew that she would only say something along the lines of ‘Who cares? As long as I get to sink my terrible nails into their worthless necks, I’m fine.’ …more or less, anyway.
“Would you prefer my help, or would you rather take your sisters?” He asked conversationally, once the link to the Council had disintegrated.
The entire time they were speaking to the Council, Danae’s focus was split. While she was listening to everything they and Doc were saying, it was the task at hand that occupied her.
“What?” She asked, somewhat surprised at the question. “We are meant to be a team. This is what we are meant to do, together.” It would have never been her first choice to bring her sisters in on this without him. After seeing the way he fought that afternoon, she wanted nothing more than to be able to see him in true action. “Do you not wish to do this?”
