Adulting is hard
Life was once full of cheer, But now it's all unclear. At twenty-seven, things aren't so merry, Suddenly, life feels lonely and scary.
Friends are tying knots, going on dates, While I sit here, feeling the weight. Lost my job, part-time isn't great, Life feels dark, like a daunting fate.
Calls and hangouts start to fade, As everyone's paths are newly laid. They have families, I'm stuck in my space, Feeling like I'm in a lonely race.
But that's how life goes, they say, Some move forward, others stay. Growing old means facing change, In a world that feels so strange.
Scary to think of what's to come, When the future feels so numb. We wait for our thirties to arrive, Hoping our worries will take a dive.
Adulting comes with its own load, Watching, waiting by the window. Hoping for that friend to call, As life's uncertainties befall.
