Starting to get REALLY excited about #VCM6, which kicks off in Stockholm and runs through Paris, Sevilla, an Iberian beach roadtrip, and winds down with an extended hometown hang during Pitchfork weekend with friends and family.
Copenhagen is so damn charming, I can't stand it. I just spent the last 4 hours wandering around the neighborhood I'm staying in, Østerbro, and I am so in love. #nofilter #denmark #copenhagen #østerbro (at Østerbro)
Our week long Copenhagen with a 3-day side of Istanbul trip plans got altered a bit this morning when we saw that the IST flight price went up about $100 over night.
We have now decided on renting a car from Copenhagen and going on a 3 day road trip around Denmark/Sweden/possibly Germany.
If anyone has any recommendations on things to do/places to stay/places to eat in Oslo, Stockholm, Hamburg, Berlin, or anywhere in between let us know!
We were terrible at documenting our trip to South America. Apologies.
But here is my recap video. It features Rio, São Paulo and Buenos Aires. The two weeks down there were incredible. Brazil is a magical place filled with the most amazingly welcoming, friendly people i've ever met. Our Airbnb finds were outstanding. The people we stayed with were awesome (and featured a bit in the video. Otavio is the one grilling meats and teaching us how to make caipirinhas.)
Getting to witness Brazil watching Brazil play World Cup games in Brazil was something I'll never ever forget. I've never seen a country get SO patriotically dolled up and have it be SO adorable. All the warnings and paranoia about getting mugged were unfounded. We had no problems.
Ipanema is and probably will always be the most beautiful place i've ever been to. It is every bit as incredible as you think it will be.
Argentina has a very strong European vibe. It was beautiful. We ate and shopped like reina's thanks to the exchange rate that worked in our favor (for once!). The men were beautiful and the food (read: steak) and wine were delicious.
Another place we managed to get a reservation was Restaurante Aprazível, in the Santa Teresa neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. It's crazy expensive so we opted to just go for cocktails and dessert around sunset time. As you can see this place looks incredible. Santa Teresa is up on the side of a mountain that overlooks the city. The views alone will be worth the round trip taxi fare it'll cost to get us there.
