The sun rose over Rome, setting the streets aglow with golden light; it was like any other morning, and there was no Stand battle that could change that. The Boss was dead (or dying, somewhere), the Passione hierarchy was in shambles, and Giorno still heard the police cars rushing to the scene of Cioccolata's last crimes. No doubt, the news would be filled with reports of the mysterious deaths of hundreds of people, seemingly eaten alive by a virus without a name.
Despite everything that had happened, life would go on. They had to go back to Naples eventually.
"Everyone made it out alive. Have to say, I wasn't expecting something like that." Abbacchio shot Bruno a crude smile, eyes shining with a rare light. Clearly, he was in a good mood. Who wouldn't be? It was nothing short of a miracle that they had all escaped with their lives.
Nothing short of a miracle, Giorno repeated to himself. He had stopped several paces behind the others as they walked out of the Colosseum together. He was shaking, and couldn't even say why. The events of the entire last week suddenly weighed down on him, crushing him - he knew what he had signed up for when he passed Polpo's test, but he had prepared for a long-term effort, not over fifty near-death experiences in less than eight days. The wheels of fate had turned and brought him along with them. He didn't even fully understand what Requiem did - all he knew was that he had more than likely banished the former boss to an end far, far worse than death. That wasn't what bothered him. It was the uncertainty of it all, the fact that so much had changed in only a few days.
Abbacchio was the first to notice that Giorno had stayed behind. He stopped, turning around and eyeing Giorno suspiciously. Mista, Trish, and Narancia kept walking, chattering cheerfully about something Giorno couldn't fully make out. Bruno gave Abbacchio a curious glance, but Abbacchio only responded with a nod that translated to something like 'It's fine, go on without us.’ Bruno nodded back and murmured something to him before continuing on.
Giorno tensed as Abbacchio walked toward him. As a habit, he didn't like showing weakness near people.
"Abbacchio? Is there something you needed?" Giorno asked.
"I could ask you the same thing. What are you doing behind the rest of us?" Abbacchio's demeanor had changed somewhat. Before, he had practically sneered his words towards Giorno, but the Colosseum fight fostered a new degree of respect between them. Abbacchio didn't seem friendly, exactly, but then again he rarely seemed friendly with anyone except for Bruno. His stare was still impassive and his eyes seemed apathetic, but something had changed.
Or maybe Giorno was just overanalyzing. It was a habit he couldn't help but pick up over the years, but it had kept him alive this long.
Giorno's response was casual. "I just needed some time, I'll catch up with the rest of you soon."
"Like hell you will. You were shaking. Something's clearly on your mind."
"I understand if you still don't trust me, but -"
"That's not it." Abbacchio huffed. "You're fifteen. Do you know what I was doing at fifteen? I was reading shitty comics and saving enough pocket money to go to the movies."
"I don't know what you mean." Giorno looked intently at Abbacchio. He hated that, how Giorno looked at people like he already knew all their secrets.
"I mean that you've been with us for less than two weeks and, while I have no idea what your life was like before this, you're the boss now and you have a ridiculous amount of responsibility to put up with. It would be hard on anyone. Hell, I'm not sure where to go from here, and I joined Passione just to find somewhere to waste away. You had a choice to live a normal life. You weren't cornered or hopeless, you joined completely of your own accord. That's what pissed me off about you. Everyone here was at a dead end, and you weren't." Giorno was made of overflowing potential, a golden light - Abbacchio had thought it was sickening. Like staring his younger self in the face.
Giorno's eyebrows raised in surprise. He hadn't expected Abbacchio to start spilling his life story to him, but all things considered, it had been the sort of night where this just may as well happen too.
"All I'm saying is," Abbacchio continued, "this is a rough life you chose for yourself. I don't really get it, but considering the fact that I thought you were just some shitty brat… you've done a lot for us. If you need my help, just ask."
Giorno hummed under his breath, and gave Abbacchio a smile. "Coming from you, Abbacchio, that means a lot."
"Good. Don't expect to hear it again. Now let's get going, we don't want to fall behind everyone else." Abbacchio turned around, his clothing sweeping behind him, and walked on towards the others. He cast a sidelong glance at Giorno.
"Coming?"
Giorno nodded, feeling like a long-running tension between them had been lifted, and followed him.
Despite everything, things were going to be just fine.

"You want… to listen to my heartbeat?" Bruno blearily rubs his eyes, blinking at his S/O sleepily from the other end of the bed.
When his S/O explains that they had a nightmare, his expression softens into sympathy. He's no stranger to nightmares himself.
He holds them close, letting them adjust themselves and rest their head on his chest. If they're comfortable with it, he strokes their hair, speaking quietly so they can fall asleep again.
The steady beat of his heart comforts his S/O, gradually calming their shaking hands and helping their own heart rate go down after the nightmare.
He stays there as long as his S/O needs. In a way, the physical contact is nice, and it's a reminder to himself as well that he's still alive and safe with them.
Vinegar Doppio:
He's surprised at first, and as usual a little hesitant with new physical contact.
He understands why it would be comforting; he loves holding their hand when he's nervous, so he figures it would be something similar to that.
A little awkwardly, he inches over to them and tells them they can rest their head on him if it would help.
He plays with their hair and, if they want to talk about it, comforts them about the nightmare.
Changing the subject and talking about more pleasant things usually works for him, so he tries to gradually shift the topic to their plans tomorrow or their favorite type of cat, making sure not to talk too loudly.
Once he feels used to it, it's as comforting for him as it is for them. Anything that happens steadily is usually grounding for him, whether it’s tapping a pencil or listening to his S/O’s heartbeat as well.

🎮 Vento Aureo Video Game HCs:
Giorno Giovanna: Giorno prefers puzzle games! He uses Tetris to pass the time while he's waiting for something else, but it wasn't until he basically moved in with Bruno and the others that he had the opportunity to play games very often. He picks up on new games very quickly. (Abbacchio isn't usually very competitive with them, but he goes feral the moment Giorno becomes better than him at whatever they're playing. Mario Kart Fridays are a bloodbath.) Other than that, Giorno would enjoy Neopets! He still comes back to the account that he’s had since it was popular.
Narancia Ghirga: Narancia loves Minecraft! He could play it for hours on end, and he has several different worlds he uses often. He likes playing Minecraft PvP games with other people (usually Fugo and Mista), and his playstyle involves digging straight down until he finds either a cave or lava. He also loves Zelda games, Pokémon, and sometimes Animal Crossing. He goes through games on his phone so quickly that his app download history has hundreds of titles.
Guido Mista: Guido "Eat, Sleep, Fortnite, Repeat" Mista tends to like battle royale games, especially if they're more lighthearted. He's not someone who rages at video games, but he massively overestimates how good at Fortnite and Overwatch he actually is moments before he gets killed in PvP.
Bruno Buccellati: Bruno doesn't really play video games. He's never had much time for them, and he'd be a little awkward with the controls. The ones he's most familiar with are classic arcade games, like PacMan. He would probably play older games like Wii Sports too!
Pannacotta Fugo: He never really had the chance to play video games as a child, and isn’t particularly interested in them either. If he’s playing them at all, it’s with Mista and Narancia. Once he’s into something, though, he’ll take it seriously. He (tries to) keep Narancia from digging straight down into lava and gets irritated when Mista shoots him with arrows out of nowhere. He would also like Ace Attorney!
Leone Abbacchio: Abbacchio isn't usually interested in video games. Even as a kid, he didn't go to arcades often. If he plays games at all, it's usually whatever Mista and Narancia are pressuring him to play. The only one he seems to enjoy enough to play more than once is Mario Kart, so every once in a while he'll join them. His Mario Kart main is Dry Bowser!
Trish Una: Trish grew up with games like Nintendogs and Petz! She’s not interested in gory games at all, and she’s likely to pick up Animal Crossing whenever a new game comes out. Her favorite console is the Nintendo DS, but she also plays games on her phone. Narancia downloaded Pocket Camp just so that they could add each other on it.

Vento Aureo Pokémon AU: Reactions to Being Defeated by the Protagonist Who’s Also Like Nine Because That’s How Pokémon Is
Bruno Buccellati:
He respects their ability, but he can’t help but be concerned about the safety of this child exploring the region and taking down highly skilled trainers on their own. He gives them a little more prize money than required by general battle etiquette, just in case.
He may also give them advice - especially to not try to take down the Pokémafia on their own. If there’s anything known about the team leader, it’s that he’s not the type of person to care about a child’s safety when his crime syndicate is involved. (Of course, being the protagonist, they take down Diavolo on their own anyways.)
Pannacotta Fugo:
He grits his teeth, but goes into his general Gym Leader spiel about how they’ve proven themselves worthy of the badge and everything. He tries to mask his surprise and suppress any irritation as much as he can, as well as some embarrassment over having his entire team taken out by a child. Still, he can see their potential, and wishes them luck on their adventure.
Guido Mista:
He laughs when he loses, and says that while he’s seriously surprised, he respects them for how powerful they are already.
He also insists that he went easy on them (he did not), and if they’ve fought before, proudly claims that they “trained under the best.” He points them towards the next stage in their adventure, whether it’s a Gym or even the Pokémon League, and tells them that they have his support.
Narancia Ghirga:
Narancia’s in shock. He’s dumbfounded for a full five seconds, and even a little frustrated that he was taken out by an actual elementary schooler. Still, he doesn’t hold grudges over Pokémon battles, and gives them the money.
Once he recovers from the initial surprise, he’s excited to ask them about their technique and how they managed to make such a strong bond with their Pokémon.
Leone Abbacchio:
He huffs, but isn’t too angry or even particularly surprised. His Pokémon don’t specialize in fighting.
He gives his opponent their prize money and tells them to run along and spend it on whatever. He very rarely initiates battles anyways, so he was probably challenged by them and decided to go along with it just to avoid being asked again.
Giorno Giovanna:
He’s certainly surprised, but only shows a genuine smile and calmly praises them for their unusual skill in battle. He gives them their prize money without complaint.
If it’s not Giorno himself single-handedly taking down the crime syndicate, he’ll help the trainer on their way to their goal.
Trish Una:
Most of her Pokémon are trained for Contests instead of battle, and she usually doesn’t get into fights unless she has to. If she’s defeated in a casual battle, she’s more concerned about her Pokémon than anything else. She kneels by her fainted Pokémon and brings out the Revives and Max Potions.
She acknowledges her opponent’s unexpected strength, but tells them that she’ll be more prepared if they ever fight again.
Vinegar Doppio:
If it’s just a general sport battle, Doppio is disappointed at worst. He feels that he has bad luck in fights anyways, and gives the child their prize money with a half-forced smile.
If the protagonist is trying to overthrow the Pokémafia, then Doppio is challenging them as the second-in-command. He’s much more determined to win, and downright vicious in battle. Some of Diavolo’s Pokémon may actually listen to him in this case, and he’ll accept defeat resentfully if he accepts it at all, guaranteeing his enemy that his Boss won’t be nearly as easy to defeat.
Diavolo:
When faced with defeat, he’s saltiest by far. As far as he’s concerned, he was chosen by fate to wield the strongest Pokémon in the region, and he’s absolutely furious to be beaten fair and square by a child, of all people. He spent years making the perfect Evil Pokémon Team of The Game, and he’s the most likely to throw a fit when his plans go awry in such a humiliating way.
completely self-indulgent, i'm a little burnt out working on romantic requests so i wrote this to get over the block a bit! (some vento aureo ending spoilers under the cut!)
Narancia Ghirga:
His Pokémon are his friends first and foremost, and he's gotten himself kicked out of buildings across the region because he refuses to leave his Pokémon in their Pokéballs for more than a few hours at a time. He feels that it's unfair to keep them from exploring the outdoors with him.
He almost exclusively partners with Flying types, but he has no plans to be a Gym Leader - he just loves his birds and couldn't care less about breeding and IVs.
His Emolga is always perched on his shoulder, and his Salamence is one of his best Pokémon in battle. He also has a Yanmega and a Staravia!
Pannacotta Fugo:
Fugo became a Poison-type specialist by accident. They just seem to get attached to him, especially his main partner, a temperamental Drapion he calls Purple Haze.
Even after years of training with it, he still can't completely control what the Pokémon does in battle, and their opponents find out that the pair shares a fiery temper.
He's known as a dangerously skilled trainer despite this, and he was the youngest Gym Leader in the region before his occasionally impulsive nature led to a certain incident.
Leone Abbacchio:
Abbacchio isn't much of a combat trainer. His main partner is a Ditto he calls Moody Blues. It specializes in recreating scenes and helping Abbacchio investigate, his Pokémon since his police days.
It's been registered as an emotional support Pokémon since then, and accompanies him in some form or another wherever he goes.
Guido Mista:
Mista specializes in any Pokémon that fires projectiles. His main partner is an Octillery that he evolved from a Remoraid. He also has a Rhyperior and an Exeggcute made of five eggs that he calls the Sex Pistols. It's an unconventional strategy, but each of the eggs move separately of the others and use psychic power to redirect the projectiles from his other Pokémon.
It can be a deadly tactic, but far from perfect, judging by the number of times Mista's been hit by his own Octillery's Octazooka.
Bruno Buccellati:
Bruno's main partner is a Banette! His Banette has the unusual ability to create zippers like the one on its mouth on its opponents, a variation on the move Curse.
Bruno has a habit of taking in every abandoned or hurt Pokémon he sees. He became his Marowak’s surrogate parent when it was still a Cubone mourning its mother. As he and his team grow, they also partner with a Kangaskhan that reflects his caring nature.
Trish Una:
Trish is a professional of Pokémon Contests! She’s the single highest-ranking competitor in the region, and her Delcatty’s face appears on magazines everywhere.
She also has a Wigglytuff and an Aromatisse! Her favorites are Fairy-types, and she spoils her Pokémon to no end. If she’s drinking expensive Kalos-made mineral water, her Pokémon are too.
Giorno Giovanna:
Giorno usually trains Grass and Bug Pokémon. His main partner is Ledian, but he's also close with his Breloom and Volcarona. He enjoys partnering with unconventional Pokémon and winning battles just off of his ability to strategize.
He catches very few Pokémon - the ones he does catch are his partners and equals for life, and he considers it needlessly cruel to attack defenseless wild Pokémon. He mostly tests his strength by battling with other trainers, making him something of a rising star in the region.
In his final confrontation with Diavolo, he gains an Arceus that he calls Gold Experience Requiem (or just Requiem, because his Pokémon's full name was too long for the registration papers.)
Vinegar Doppio:
Doppio's bag is filled with Pokéballs of questionable legality, including some counterfeit Masterballs. He claims to be holding the Pokéballs for his boss, and his actual team consists of only a Girafarig and a Rotom that possesses a broken cellphone.
All of Diavolo's Pokémon refuse to listen to Doppio even if he does let them out, and there's one Pokéball that he's been told not to open under any circumstances.
Doppio's main partner (and one of the only Pokémon in his bag that accept him as their trainer) is a Girafarig named Epitaph! Its psychic powers can foresee events up to ten seconds into the future, and Doppio's been working with it for years. They can be deadly when the situation calls for it, but both tend to avoid combat where they can.
Diavolo:
The rest of the Pokéballs in Doppio's bag belong specifically to Diavolo.
Diavolo's main partner is a Giratina that can temporarily warp reality into the Distortion World, giving the illusion that time has been skipped. It's unknown where he found such a dangerous Pokémon, but it's the main powerhouse behind his villain team/Pokémafia.
Diavolo's other Pokémon are a Scolipede, a Houndoom, a Dusknoir, a Hydreigon, and a Honchkrow. They generally share his unsociable personality, but there seems to be some degree of mutual respect between the team.

Bruno is on the situation in an instant. With a curt glare, he asks them very politely to leave his partner alone. He's very well-liked in town, and most people there know his name - they'd usually knock it off just knowing that she's with Buccellati, but you never know what kind of people you'll find. If they continue (or if they get even remotely physical and start pushing his S/O around), he'll give them a warning before bringing out Sticky Fingers and zipping their hands together. The zipper should dissolve on its own after a few hours - but it'll certainly teach them a lesson.
Giorno Giovanna:
Giorno walks up to them, gently pulling his S/O behind him and away from their line of sight. He doesn't betray any anger when he asks them why they'd think it's acceptable to harass somebody they hardly know, but his eyes are piercing. He holds his partner's hand the whole time, and afterwards, he'll ask her if she's alright - he knows how hard it is to be treated like that. (Out of all of Bruno's gang, Giorno's also the most likely to steal their wallets afterwards.)
Pannacotta Fugo:
Fugo doesn't bother to hide his irritation when he confronts them. He hates people like this almost more than anything else, and although he's not looking to get into anything violent, it wouldn't exactly be unrealistic for him to get into an all-out fistfight if they refuse to stop following and harassing his S/O over something that isn't her fault. Afterwards, he might offer to help teach his S/O a little bit of conversational Italian - if she's interested.
Guido Mista:
Mista's fairly confident he could take these people in a fight if he really needed to; if they're cornering and harassing his S/O who did nothing to deserve this, they're probably exactly as weak as they look. He puts that idea on the backburner - he's not looking for trouble, but there's no way he's just going to let this happen. "Hey, hey, hey! What did she do to you?" Afterwards, he's sure to make certain she's okay, and offer to go somewhere else with her to take her mind with it.
Narancia Ghirga:
Narancia's quick to pull out his switchblade for any reason, but this especially is unbearable for him. He hates being made fun of for his intelligence, and seeing his S/O (and his best friend!) go through this is hitting far too close to home. He wastes no time in threatening them and waving his blade in their face - if they want to make fun of her for something as small as this, they'll have to go through him first.
Leone Abbacchio:
He's not having it. He can sound intimidating when he wants to, and he pulls out his Scary Goth Voice when he sees how his S/O is being treated. He shames them for being so pathetic that they'd resort to treating a complete stranger so badly. Abbacchio would prefer to just have them scram afterwards, but if they refuse to leave her alone, it's not like he would back down from a fight either.
How does doppio feel about being touched? Ex. Would he let me sleep on his stomach? 😳😳gay shit

It takes a long time for Doppio to get used to physical contact - he's a little jumpy by nature, and several very dead muggers can testify that you shouldn't touch him without permission.
It’s different with his S/O. It takes a long time for him to build genuine trust for people, but when he does, he loves getting physical contact as much as possible! He's still a little shy about it in public, but when he's only with his S/O, he would absolutely let them sleep on his stomach.
He likes to rest his head on their shoulder when he's feeling tired or anxious, and loves winding his fingers through their hair, especially if its long. (If they're not around, Doppio has a habit of fiddling with his long fringe too!)
This man is definitely sleep-deprived, and it's probably not uncommon for him to fall asleep on you during cuddle sessions.

Bruno sighed. He didn't know how to even begin to say this. It was like his sentimental side had been crushed by his years of hardship - or was that wrong? Maybe he was the same as ever, just in a worse place. Passione had been his only hope, but ever since he found out about the drug trade…. His head was still reeling from it, and it had been more than a week since he found out. Gang work or not, Passione was something he thought he could believe in - how had he been so naïve?
Recently, his teammates were the only thing he was finding much joy in. He cared about them all - they had become family to each other, but the most recent recruit was different.
The new teammate and Bruno had gotten closer recently. He had talked to them about his past - and that was something he almost never talked about. He knew that he could be too curt with people. Sometimes it seemed like everything had become business to him, but this person made him feel more alive than he had in a long time. When their 'work' was over, they had taken walks in the cooled summer air of a temperate Italian evening and talked about everything. Over the course of several months, they had grown so close that, at some point, it was like their friendship had drifted into romance. Maybe it was just wishful thinking - Bruno would confess to them soon, but not today. Today, there was something else he needed to tell them, maybe more important than a clear confession.
There were still scarlet stains on his suit from earlier in the day. It looks like wine, he thought to himself, more out of a sense of irony than anything else. The interrogation had gone well.
He decided not to change his clothing before meeting his teammate. It didn't matter - it wasn't like any of them were strangers to violence.
They showed up at his door at exactly the hour he had invited them, a little red-faced. "The taxi was a little late, some blond-haired kid tried to scam me before I found a - anyways, I found a new one and sprinted the rest of the way here. Do we still have time for the reservation?"
Bruno nodded. "You came at the perfect moment. And besides that," he added with a mischievous smile, "You know that bribery could get us anywhere, if we really needed it."
They grinned back. "Yeah, but I don't want to deal with the hassle. Want to get going?"
"Why not?"
Only an hour later, they were sitting at a table in one of the fanciest restaurants in Italy. (As it turned out, they were a little late, and as it also turned out, Bruno was right when he said that bribery could get them anywhere.)
It was a private table, all red velvet and candlelight with a view of the purple sunset outside between two billowing curtains. The person Bruno invited looked at their surroundings, amazed.
"We're not just here to talk about work, are we?" they murmured.
"No, not really." Bruno gave them a sideways glance. "But it might not be exactly what you're expecting, either."
They stayed silent, looking at him with hopeful (?) eyes.
He continued. "I found out something about Passione. I can talk to you about it later, but honestly… It shook me to the core." He had considered keeping it to himself for a while. Polpo had confirmed his suspicions when he asked, but even now, he kept a foolish hope that it was all some kind of misunderstanding. The knowledge haunted him: Passione was the undisputed leader of the same business that killed his father and tore his life apart.
But that wasn't what was important right now.
Bruno interlocked his fingers and rested his head on his hands - he thought he would at least try to maintain eye contact when he said this, but now that he was there, something was making him feel uncharacteristically shy. (It's the crush, he admitted to himself.)
He took a sip of his water and went on. "But when I'm with you… when we spend time together like this, I feel happier than I've felt in a long time. I'm glad we met. And someday…."
"Someday, if we can ever move on from Passione… I want to be with you." A rare, soft smile lit up his face.
It had ended up being more of a love confession than he had intended it to be, and the effect wasn't lost on the person sitting across from him. They matched his smile, and reached across the table to hold his hand.
"I want to be with you too," they said. And even if the thought of living free of Passione was just a pipe dream, those words alone gave Bruno Buccellati hope.

He has money to spare as the new capo, and so he offers to pay for their binders, hormone therapy, surgery - anything they might need. He’s completely, 100% supportive of them every step of the way.
Giorno Giovanna: Giorno smiles at his S/O, takes his hand, and praises his courage in coming out - he knows how hard it is. He tells his boyfriend that he loves and accepts him, no matter what. Pannacotta Fugo: Fugo tells his S/O that it was very brave of him to come out, and that he'll do anything in his power to help his boyfriend transition if he wants to. He can help make a full plan for how and when he’d like to start taking steps towards transitioning. He's as reassuring as he can be, and has extremely low patience for transphobes.
Narancia Ghirga: It doesn’t take long for him to understand - though it’s certainly not to the extent of his partner, Narancia knows how unpleasant it is to be misgendered. After his S/O explains it, he changes his way of referring to him. He compliments how handsome his S/O is, and calls him his boyfriend at every opportunity. He's supportive to the extreme, and will get into fights with people who misgender his boyfriend and best friend.
Guido Mista: He's surprised at first, but he hugs his S/O and tells him that nothing's changed at all - they kiss, and he says that his S/O is his S/O, and he'll support him through anything. If it helps alleviate dysphoria, they can even do "boyfriend things" together, most of which involve Monster Energy and unwise decisions with said Monster Energy.
Leone Abbacchio: There are a few moments of silence as Abbacchio takes it in. Somewhat awkwardly, he offers to hug his S/O; he understands how hard it must've been to come out, and he wants his partner to know that they're always treasured by him. He starts researching transitioning to help his partner along the way, casually telling him about opportunities as they come up.

Risotto's black sclera and status as one of the most prolific assassins in Passione would've been intimidating to anyone else, but the man in front of him showed no sign of doubt. Head pridefully tilted up, dark ponytails curling around his neck with artistic grace, Illuso seemed just as fearless as an assassin should be. Risotto sighed, and set Illuso's application forms back on his desk.
"So. You do understand that no application was needed for joining La Squadra?"
"Yes," Illuso began, "but I like to make a strong first impression. You don't even have to read it - I have everything you're looking for and more. All it takes is one mirror, and no target even stands a chance." He snapped his fingers to punctuate his words. Illuso’s smile was arrogant - that might be an issue. Risotto was used to dealing with overconfident people, both his allies and his enemies. It wasn't always a benefit. Of all the people he had ever killed, not one of them had confidence high enough to make them immune to sharp iron implements. He turned his attention back to Illuso.
"Next question," Risotto said. "And this is the most important one." His red eyes and impassive stare were daggers, observing Illuso's every movement to learn as much as he could about his potential teammate. So far, he had learned that he was dealing with a terminal jackass.
"Why, exactly, did you feel the need to describe yourself as 'smexy' not once, but twice on your resumé?"
"Am I not smexy?"
Risotto felt his soul shrivel up and blow out of his body as a fine dust. There was a long silence between the two. Finally, Risotto spoke again.
"...Can you kill people?"
"Yes."
"You're hired." Risotto's words sounded so final that the conversation clearly ended right there. Illuso grinned and stood up from his chair, walking out of the dark room and closing the door behind him with victorious finesse.
Risotto let his head drop to the table. Whatever the Boss paid him, it would never, ever be enough.

The rest of the team is surprised when Abbacchio tells them he has an S/O; he doesn't seem like someone with strong ties outside of the gang, but it all makes sense once Abbacchio introduces them.
Dressed in black, aloof and reserved, his S/O seems like the perfect match for him.
It’s like the two have a tacit language of their own. When someone says something especially ridiculous, Abbacchio turns an exhausted gaze towards his S/O, and their judgemental eye contact together says more than words ever could. (Unless it's Giorno. If it's Giorno, Abbacchio's judgment is never silent, S/O or not.)
They sit next to each other and hold hands under the table - Abbacchio leans his head on their shoulder even when he's with the gang, disregarding Mista and Narancias' teasing.
He and his S/O have a lot of common ground, both in fashion and music taste. They're known to share playlists and even their brands of makeup.
Abbacchio's glad to have such an intimate ally. He doesn’t feel pressured to talk about himself or be performative, and appreciates their calming presence in his life more than anything else. They can both come off as intimidating at first, but they understand each other better than Abbacchio had ever known was possible.
