Unlike Ghost, who retreats to the void in ball form, The Hollow Knight's shade seemingly gets obliterated by the burst of light emited by the Radiance upon receiving the final hit

(Ghost is a descending ball in the last two images)

(Notice also how THK alone is blurry)

The Hollow Knight not being on Sister of the Void can easily be explained away by "camera angle" and "TC wanted it vague"

But honestly? I think THK's shade doesn't even survive Dream No More in the first place

This aligns with the regular endings having it explode entirely, leaving no shade or even shell behind

Silksong does some interesting stuff where Grand Mother Silk is not a queen nor a goddess but a monarch and a god. And although Lace is literally the monarch's daughter, she's not a princess, but a knight.

I just think that's pretty neat.

#love the knight in shining armor and princess in distress subversion thing they have going on #lace is a knight and hornet is a princess yet they act nothing like their respective archetypes #I mean Hornet's royal side occasionally comes through in specific interactions #but princess is not a word that immediately comes to mind when you look at her #If you think about it the game starts with a kidnapped princess (classic videogame trope) getting saved by a knight #and ends with the knight getting saved by the princess #hollow knight
