You're a Literature major? It's called free verse. Maybe you should pay more attention to your fucking major.

HAHAHAHA god people really get on my nerves when they start being condescending little shits

writing free verse poetry isn’t an excuse to write poetry of low quality.  you should toil over every single word, every single line, every single stanza in order to do the work of real poetry.free verse simply means that there’s no regular rhyme scheme/rhythm, not that you’re abandoning the rules completely and hacking at sentences in order to form them into some vague suggestion of poetic form.look at whitman.  look at other free verse poets.  they use many poetic elements in their free verse and it is goddamn beautiful and effective as fuck.  especially when they rhyme a few lines and —- boom!  what’s up, you’re takin a real close look at that line now, huh?free verse =/= an easy way out 

by all means, throw off the rules and be innovative if you want to.but that’s the thing:be innovative not boring, not ordinarybecause that sucksand you can do so much better 

also don’t act like a brat to someone who’s done you no harm, especially with no facewe could have had a swell conversation about poetry/art, but you took the low roadtreat people with some goddamn respect
