Becoming the god of mummification and the afterlife so that Osiris could assume his position. Witchcraft: Cleansing

Cleansing is one of those aspects of magic that is used frequently, but can be somewhat confusing for new practitioners to find resources on. Cleansing is like a form of spiritual hygiene for you, another, an item, or area.

After long periods of time, overcoming challenges, or the contact of many different energies, our own energies can become polluted with magical residue, and that is when one would cleanse themselves. The same concept stand the same for items such as Crystals.

Many cultures believe and act accordingly to the fact that when cleansing, leaving windows and doors open is providing the energy a place to escape to, rather than allowing it to rekindle.

Some practitioners believe Banishment is an extreme form of Cleansing, such purifying something rather than merely sanitizing it. Although Banishment is usually used in terms of expelling entities, the same does also apply for energy.

I highly recommend Cleansing the tools you use to Cleanse often. Some witches do not Cleanse things because they believe it can remove all of the energy from a person, place, or object.

Cleansing Methods:

Fire:

Candlelight, sunlight, bonfires, warm baths and showers, simmer pots, candle flames, and loose incense can all be used for cleansing yourself, an object, or space.

Intent:

Your hands, fingers, mind, and spirit are powerful tools if you only harness and wield the with an educated mind. With the right intention, you can yourself Cleanse beings, objects and space with visualization.

Physical:

Decluttering, organization, rinsing, dusting, purging, sweeping, moping, wiping down surfaces, and general hygienic care can be used for cleansing spaces and objects when done with intention.

Sounds:

Using sound is incredibly powerful for cleansing, ranging from vocal statements, Hertz Frequencies, Ringing Bells, Sound Bowls, Banging Pots, Wind Chimes, Songs, to chants and incantations. Sound can cleanse entities, items, or areas.

Water:

Water can be used to cleanse, weather it from a faucet or creeks, oceans, storms, or rivers, it has potential. Running water or water in general not only washes us, but our energies too. Bathing, rinsing, showers, and scrubbing can all be applied here.

Hey y’all it’s been a while

I want to get back into my craft. I need to get back into the craft. I’ve been feeling so disconnected and lost lately and I just heard The Call. I do not live in a place where I can practice openly safely so I can’t yet bring my altar or supplies so any tips or any small spells or intentions would be helpful. Or just give this a like so I can refresh my dash with more witchy things. I tend toward green witchery and would like to get into runes, digits, healing, or Druidic practices. I appreciate you all!

The Lemon Hex

For when someone has REALLY done you dirty and you just need a quick and powerful burst of baneful energy. This one is powerful, fast-acting, and short-lived, by nature it can really f a person up and can't be undone/reversed once you've cast it. As always, practice responsibly and be safe!

What You Need

A lemon (naturally.)

A knife to help handle said lemon

A leaf or piece of paper with your target's name/identifying info on it (taglock)

Ginger/Cayenne Pepper to help empower/speed up the spell. Both preferred, but just one can do.

Salt/Black Pepper, good baseline ingredients for most hexes

Anything nasty or spicy you can think of. Hot sauces/peppers, old vegetable juices, lint/dust, dish scum, you name it.

Important note: This is not a spell you want to use needles, nails, or other hard things in. Keep it soft and organic if you can. You'll see why.

Steps

Throughout all of this, I find hexes to be a good opportunity to speak your mind, let the target know exactly how they fucked up and how this is the consequence of their actions.

Prepare your taglock and cut an opening in your lemon. Give it some room in the middle.

Roll up or stuff the taglock inside the lemon alongside all of the other ingredients. Be sure to add the ginger and cayenne for best results.

Once it's all in there, give it a little roll/squeeze to make sure those lemon juices permeate all the nasty insides. Let the citrus sting and the spices burn, let the grossness reflect the grossness they've wrought on your own life being sent back.

Chop the whole thing into pieces in preparation for the next step.

Once you're ready, chuck it into the garbage disposal.

If you don't have a garbage disposal, a blender with some liquid should work too. You could even continue using nasties like lemon or pickle juice.

Your lemon is now ground up and liquefied. Dispose of the remains however you please.

@grimiorething If you don't mind me asking, I'm curious how you came to this conclusion! Not challenging it, just interested in knowing the Why.

Especially because when writing this in my mind, I personally considered it actually much harder than normal to "undo," mostly because it's meant to just be a single really hard hit (so there's not really anything to stop or undo since it's over with quickly if that makes sense?)

Bath spell for menstrual cramps

A rose quarts crystal - for general pain relief

Feverfew [dried or fresh] - To regulate menses and reduce pain from period cramps

Lavender [dried or fresh] - Relaxation

Salt and a white candle - Purification

The herbs, salt and crystal should be added to a warm bath (either loose or in a muslin bag).

Allow them to impart their energies into the water

Light the candle to purify the energy around the bath

Soak in the bath for as long as needed until you feel better

Thank the spirits of the herbs, crystal and fire for their help

us witches get colds too

hello greenies! i’ve been getting sicker and sicker as the seasons change and so have my fellow witches. this is a loose recipe that i use for colds and i hope it can help. sorry if the measurements aren’t exact! 

for kettle:

4 cups of water

2 lemons

chopped ginger (an inch? maybe less depending on how strong you want it)

a small handful of peppermint (i have the hands of a child)

2 sticks on cinnamon

honey (will put in at the end)

for cup

1 cup of water

¼ of an inch of ginger

a few of leaves of peppermint

half a stick ( if you have powder use like 1 tsp?) of cinnamon

honey (will put in at the end)

directions

heat up water until it comes to a nice low boil/simmer. place ginger, peppermint, and cinnamon in. 

after 4 minutes place thyme and lemon.

***for the lemon make sure you cut in half, squeeze out, and place the peels in the water (for kettles place 1 of the lemon shells in the water, for cup place a few slices). let sit for another 4 minutes. then when done put in cups!

put in as much honey as you want! (i use about a tablespoon per cup) stir clockwise and chant:

“Frost in the body, cast out.

Mother Earth bring to me health and wellness.

Bring to me the warmth of spring.

Frost in the body, cast out.”  

visualize a green light flowing into the cup as you chant and as you drink that same light travels into you.
