“The most painful thing is losing yourself in the process of loving someone too much, and forgetting that you are special too.”
— Ernest Hemingway
That's quite an eye opening quote to come across first thing in the morning.

On the Cliff's Edge
On the cliffs edge, I stand alone,
Wind in my face, the waves crashing below,
The storms they roar, the thunder rumbles,
I stand and watch as in the distance, another ship crumbles.
It's only a flash, the crash of thunder,
Then lightning strikes and the ship, fire does murder,
Echo does the screams, of the sailors in peril,
They shout for help, that will never come,
And pray to their gods, to rescue their moral forms.
The ship is wrecked, the debris floats,
No screams and shouts sound,
All silenced by receding thunder,
Blood mixed with water, is all the ocean does show.
There are no survivors, only souls,
And now they join me, leaving life's tolls,
Here they approach, reduced to wandering ghouls,
On the cliff's edge, we stand tall,
Standing in wait, to watch another ship fall.
Sweet Freedom's Breeze
Father, father look, father look at me,
Here rises your boy, high above the sea,
Father, father look, father we are free,
My lungs they breathe, with strength and ease,
My arms they beat, strong and steady.
Lift my wings higher, does Eurus' breeze,
Oh no father! The Destroyer glares down upon me,
Deny me he does, my sweet freedom's breeze,
Yet fly low i shall not, down near the Stormbringer's seas.
Foolish Boy, brash boy listen, hear your old father's plea,
Melt down your wings, will Poebus' heat,
But weigh them down, shall Ennosidas' sea,
Careful now boy, hold on steady,
Fly on we shall, on sweet freedom's breeze.
Father, father look, father look at me,
Here falls your son, the wings have failed me,
Weep not my father, your son is happy,
Feel on his skin he did he, his sweet freedom's breeze,
Fly again I shall, unchained with glee,
Restrain me none shall, even in death I remain free.
Sweet boy, darling boy, my boy you've left me,
Lost you I have, in your flight unbridled by sun and sea,
Your triumphant laugh, it rings within me,
My price you have been, for sought I, sweet freedom's breeze.
Dream Chasers
As the moon hangs high in the mid-night sky,
The children lie, and to sleep, they try,
But the dreams in mind, keep them awake at night,
And watch in wonder of the forms they take, in the absence of light.
The stars that shine, twinkle above,
Smiling down, at the innocent minds,
To dream is what they know, and to chase it is their right,
For the dreams that immerse them, keep them awake at night.
Sinking into a pool of light, the wonderful figures, fill their mind,
The hope and love, their little hearts bind,
Running after a dream, that they hope they'll find.
Run my dream chasers, into the light,
Don't look back now, keep going with all your might,
Don't give up now, and keep up your fight,
Find what you love, and do that, which is right.
