Sons Of The Labyrinth or The Things Our Fathers Do To Us
Icarus wasn't supposed to fly too close to the sea as well.
The story is about moderation, not just about ambition and hubris. If it were, then Icarus and Daedalus would've been struck down as soon as they took flight.
Greek bronze helmet with two winged youths and a pair of entwined serpents on both sides. The figures are meant to represent either Daedalus and his son Icarus or local daemonic beings

Dr Aseem Chakravarthy, new favorite guy from a small story set within the City of Mist universe we’ve been putting together with a friend.
He's such a good bean. Losing my mind over him a little.

some UDAD designs yaayyy 🤭✨
hey, fellow Athenide AU enthusiasts, why haven't we done anything with Daedalus?
He's a son of Athena, probably born after the contest for Athens, so he's Perse's little brother, right? He could even be her first little brother. Maybe she was the one to brand him for killing his nephew, and its her symbol that haunts his animatronic bodies. And his son Icarus died flying into the ocean--Perse definitely would have retrieved her nephew's soul and delivered him to the underworld.
Maybe Daedalus, in his fifth body, could be the only one to recognize Percy as the Athenide? Like, if Styx cursed the gods to never figure out that Percy=Perse like in @chaoticdumbassrogue 's Of Manhattan... Daedalus isn't a god, and he's probably the only "mortal" person alive who actually met Perse.
idk, what do ya'll think
