"Okay, this is probably cheesy. This is cheesy isn't it? Tell me it's cheesy and I'll just order a pizza...One not in the shape of a heart."
--I love it... And while I would love a heart shaped pizza just as much, I say we stick to this. Because it's gorgeous.
"That's it -- you can finish what you were doing now."
Ahem -- [ clears throat ]
cue the bitch face.
"I’m sure if you asked the kids they’d say we don’t act like it sometimes." But did it matter? Not in his company, it didn’t matter. She could just be Jenna around him, she didn’t have to be the parent, the student, whatever else she had to be. She could just be herself. "But what do they know. Pssh. Kids.”
"I say we emotionally scar them and make out in the living room --" Grinning he backed towards the couch half taking her with him.
"Tha’ should be easy considerin’ both of us aren’t hard t’plan for."
"So -- do we wanna go for the neutral clothes optional pizza and a chick flick... Or... y'know -- get fancied up and go somewhere not the Grill?"
"You did really good." It wasn’t often that Jenna had a bit of romance in her life. At least, not the real deal. There was the idea of romance that was used by someone wanting something. Ric wasn’t like that — he was so far from it. "What we’ve learned from this is don’t listen to Elena." She chuckled moving her arm around his shoulders.
He'd done -- really -- really good from the reaction. Which was enough to cause him to grin like the Cheshire cat. A hand rose brushing his thumb across the line of her cheekbone he pulled back. "Why would we anyway -- we're the adults after all."
She could see why Elena would suggest that he shouldn’t do it like this. If he was after her heart he kind of had it running around in circles through the kitchen and out the back door in sudden panic. Of course that was an exaggeration. Her heart was still in her chest. Yet all the while in his hands. "You did good, Ric. You did good." Now if he wouldn’t mind. She would like to pull him up by the collar of his shirt and show him how good he did with a kiss.
Funny thing was? He hadn't the faintest clue. He'd been a lost man - wandering a world he didn't belong in. Fallen from heaven with nothing underneath. Until -- everything he'd ever needed had appeared in his life, capturing his fractured heart - and holding it safe in her very responsible hands.
"--I did do good." Laughter filtered into his tone as hands went to her hips, pulling her closer to him - the feel of her against him comforting in a world of insanity.
"Ooo ow, burn."
"--What?" Glaring..
"Woah, Ric..What are you-" Oh good. Not a ring. Not a marriage proposal. "Oh sweet Zombie Jesus.." She put her hand over her chest laughing lightly. "I would love to be your Valentine."
"Can I be honest --" Ric honestly. When aren't you-- "I asked Elena -- How I should do this. And she said not like this -- So -- I hope I was right?" He was grinning like am imp.
"Don’t start with me history teacher." It was a brilliant idea.
"Don't start with me -- Unemployed -- dude."
"I really hate when conversations start out like that…"
Gets down on one knee -- Boyish grin on his lips "Be my Valentine?"
