I’ve expressed this more than enough times but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Yaelokre’s music and story, and this AU has been in the back of my mind for two years so I’m really happy to finally nail down these designs 🫶🏾 what will I use them for? Lol. Lmao. You’ll see (hopefully)

The Marilyalings are they’re own persons (?) in this AU but I do still associate each of them with a member of the Lark: Kion with Cole, Ramona with Kingsley (but also Clementine, in terms of her relationship with Kion), Khadijah with Peregrine and Chisom with Clementine fr. Something I hope to do is a drawing of each of them with their respective Lark’s theme song but idk if I’ll have the stamina for all that 😭 we’ll see!!!

Figured I’d also share some concept art of that Ramona design! I originally created it for an Idol AU DTIYS but never committed to it, so instead I repurposed it as one of her Honkai Star Rail variants and, of course, her magical girl design for this AU as well (can you tell I have…a lot of AUs…)

For those unaware, Ramona’s Chinese (and Filipino) so I like to give her designs that reflect her heritage; in this case, the second and third outfits are based off modern hanfu, with colors that are meant to resemble a sunrise! And the star buns hairstyle is something I stumbled upon on Twitter (I wish I could remember who posted it 💔), and is basically what kickstarted this idea :) so yeah that’s basically it

Story swap between my OCs Imani/Ramona and Zira/Aika from IDWTBAMG because I am incredibly normal about them and their similarities. I have never lied in my life.

Thinking a Lot about this Rosegold AU again so. Walk with me:

Y’know how Aika started out super enthusiastic about her job as a magical girl but now hates it to the point of actively avoiding it? In this AU, Ramona’s somewhere in the middle; she’ll whine and groan whenever Chenxing (her Hoshi equivalent, a little lion thing) tells her she has to stop lazing around and go Do Her Job, but once she gets in the flow she has a lot of fun

And as is typical for her she plays around/cracks jokes/taunts her enemies a lot of the time — think of Episode 1 when Aika taunts Eclipse to shoot his void beam; Ramona would do the same but rather than being deadpan/dismissive, she’s laughing and treating it like a big joke (at least until Imani steps in to defend her. Ramona may disregard her own safety a lot but seeing a powerless friend put themself in danger really reminds her that this shit isn’t a game)

And one thing about Ramona is that she is VERYY protective, so if you really want to see her serious/angry side, just play dirty and attack one of her loved ones 💛 if you dare 💛💛💛

Another idea I’ve been playing with is one where Ramona actually IS tired of being a magical girl but hides it under a thick layer of toxic positivity. “Yeah I DO feel deep dread whenever I have to go fight monsters again and DO wish I could take it easy more often and DO want nothing more than to be a normal girl again but that’s fine! All part of the job!! If I give 1000% of my effort and disregard my wellbeing I won’t have to think about it too much ^^” like girl no
