But, of course nothing lasts forever, he just about heard the bell and pulled out his earphones with a deep sigh before pulling them out. Everything felt too real. Phil placed the colourful bookmark in the book and moved from the bench, the time he walked from the courtyard into the hallways they were empty how he liked it, he stood by the rusty locker and twisted the knob a few times. As Phil went to place his books in, he heard shouting and looked down to see y/n and her boyfriend, Zack.
‘Of course they’re fighting’ Phil bitterly thought, ‘Y/n’s so perfect, what’s she doing with a jerk like that?’ And of course she was perfect, she was captain of the cheerleading squad with perfect friends, not to mention she was rich as fuck. Phil, and probably so many other guys in this school had a thing for her. She oozed confidence, beauty and happiness. He couldn’t help notice how upset she was, she was bellowing at Zack. Phil turned and watched how she shoved him back, before storming off. Zack shook his head walking the other way.
She looked so distressed and upset, he never seen someone like this. He pulled a tissues out of his pocket (he was very prepared).
“I’m sorry.” Phil spoke making y/n stop and turn to face him. She wiped away the tears, looking at Phil, “I mean, you and Zack. I-I don’t know what happened but-“ He passed the small tissue to her and watched how she gingerly took it with a small smile and wiped the smeared make of her face.
“Thanks.” She spoke softly. “I guess you saw all of that?” Phil nodded. “I don’t know what I saw in him. He treated me like I was nothing, almost all the time.” And another wave of tears flooded down her face with a small hiccups leaving her mouth, “And I still took him back, even after I caught him getting head from fucking, Ashley! God, I’m so fucking stupid!”
“You’re not stupid.” Phil spoke in a small voice, and passed her another tissue. “You’re just in love, it makes you do crazy stuff.” Y/ns eyes soften at the much taller boy, who had thick rimmed glasses on and braces as thick as bricks. He was kind of cute, nerdy cute.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know your name, and I’m already crying like an idiot.” Y/n sniffed, making Phil smile.
“It’s Phil.”
“Well, it seems like you’re my only friend right now Phil, and I can’t be in school with that jerk anymore.” Y/n looked at the window that was open then back at Phil. “We could go back to my place, and hang. You don’t have to come, if you don’t want to.” Bunking school? Phil’s pretty sure that if he like y/n he wouldn’t of bunked school but he is. He nodded and they left promptly with a sprint across the field and jumped the fence because taking the back-way to the nice part of town.
They stood outside the mansion, it was huge with a brick gate surrounding it, they walked in and Phil was so taken by it. It was probably hundred times bigger than his house! The door unlocked revealing a huge hallway that had marble flooring and a huge staircase that twisted it’s way up to the top.
“My mom and dad aren’t, and probably won’t be back for a while.” She dumped her bag on the floor before walking straight ahead where Phil followed suit. The kitchen was huge, everything was huge in this house. “We could make some food, and watch some films.” It was agreed and they did. It didn’t last long before they both started talking and realised they had a lot in common; they liked the same music surprisingly, they both seen the same bands and both loved pizza with a burning passion.
And after all that talking, Phil didn’t realise it was almost nine at night.
Shit.
“I have to go! I’m going to be in so much trouble!” He quickly spoke jumping up from the sofa.
“Of course!” She walked to the door, helping him grab all his things. As he turned, she stood on her tip toes and pecked his lips.
“Thanks for making me feel better, Phil. We should do this again.”
