And then they all die
Little Hope-Tober Day 4: Fog
In literature, fog can symbolize a lot of things: isolation, blindness, mystery, uncertainty, hidden truths, and even dreams. It’s used to represent a distortion between fiction and reality, a liminal space where the lines tend to blur– and in the Bible, it was often an image that preceded great revelations….
John is a creative writing professor. According to him, he’s been sober for nearly three months and has a sobriety chip. Angela says he has failed dreams of being a writer and is waiting for retirement, and he can tell Andrew that the college has considered firing him already. He is very knowledgeable about Little Hope for an unexplained reason.

Little Hope-Tober Day 3: Child’s Toy
THE cause of a horrific fire at a Little Hope family residence at the weekend may have been a child’s toy. Lieutenant David Farr of the Little Hope Volunteer Fire Department told the Herald that the gas range in the kitchen had been left on and a child’s doll set down near it. He believes the doll caught fire and fell off the range, setting the kitchen ablaze…
Little Hope-Tober: Day 2 - Matchbox
"If you take your eyes off her for a moment she's away creating havoc somewhere. Today I found her playing with Dad's matches. Fortunately she didn't light any. I shouted at her, she started crying and then Mom screamed at me.” - Tanya’s diary, Curator’s Cut
i think it’s so interesting that almost all of the clarke’s play sports:
tanya plays tennis (as seen by the trophies in her room and her tennis shoes)
dennis plays football (once again, the trophies, and the football coach comment daniel makes)
anthony plays baseball (as mentioned by andrew during the ‘yabbering’ window scene)
and at the very least james has an interest in hockey (when he rudely changes the channel on megan from cartoons to sports) i also think he’s generally a sport-ball guy
the kids are VERY good at the sports they play which is so cute? i love it. it’s fun to think that maybe, at one point in their life, the clarke’s would toss a ball around in the yard together, on a warm spring day, back when things weren’t so bad. when james still dedicated time to his family
megan is young and seems more invested in her dolls, among other things, she has a book collection, much like anthony (i have a feeling they share a common interest in stories), but it IS pretty cute to headcanon her finding enjoyment in roller-skating, skating through neighborhood or to the park or something
i’ve thought about anne, and so far i haven’t been able to pin a sport on her (any ideas?) but i DID note the piano in the living room and had a headcanon she plays/played at some point or another. now the piano is more of a dust collector than anything, but there was a time when she’d play on a saturday morning, still in her night robe, the rising sun peeking through the curtains, a soft smile on her face

“That one's a classic. Legendary vinyl. Quit pawing at it will ya?”

“I got to get away from here, and my 'wonderful' family. Like right now. “

“Dennis is rude” “he’s so mean” yeah yeah yeah. Have you considered: he’s just very snarky, and he’s a typical protective older brother, who’s VERY protective of his vinyls (which he obviously treasures). I present for evidence: “that one’s a classic. Legendary vinyl.” Dennis reaches out and takes the record from Anthony, adding “Quit pawing at it, will ya?” with THIS LITTLE SMIRK. The smirk that has ended me. He’s just teasing his baby brother. They’re joking around, and I’m going to Die.
they should’ve lived and been gay for each other i said wha i said
